Rating: Summary: A very funny, provactive, and in your face... Review: ...approach to whipping into shape the potential you have within. A "no-holds-barred" book designed to get you off your butt, and start tacking against the winds of misfortune that have beset you in the past.
Larry takes no prisoners, and will NOT allow you to get wrapped up in the role as a "victim" of circumstance; no wimps, weenies, or whiners allowed! His sensible, insightful, and challenging solutions to turning your life around, will inspire, motivate, and help set your course for future success...
Rating: Summary: Awesome...Life Changing Review: A truly original look at personal development and self improvement. If you are into the "airy-fairy" approach to personal development, this book is not for you. I think his self-designation as the world's only irritational speaker is right on. He will tick you off, knock you off your comfortable chair, and then smack you in the back of the neck. Why? Probably because you needed it! I know I did! This is my new favorite. Get it. Read it. Buy a few for your friends.
Rating: Summary: Doesn't live up to the hype Review: After hearing numerous people rave about Winget's speaking talents, I was anxious to see what all the excitement was about. All I can say is that the book doesn't live up to all the hype. Winget's "I don't care what you think, I know better than you" rant gets tiresome after about the tenth repetition. Interestingly, he admits that he has been a multiple failure in his professional life until becoming a motivational speaker; I can't help but notice how motivational speakers spend a lot of time telling us how to succeed without much evidence that they succeeded at anything but talking. Winget's New Age prattle tends to get in the way of much practical advice, and any advice that is proferred (quit watching television) is contradicted (he admits to spending his mornings watching TV). Take a pass on this one.
Rating: Summary: Get Mad, Then Change Review: Even if you don't agree with everything Winget says (and I'm sure you won't), his ideas will make you think, which is good for most of us. Winget won't let you off easily until you take a good look at the ways you excuse your faults and lack of success. Then it's your turn to decide if you want to change or go on whining. If you choose to whine, don't expect any sympathy!
One point that the author emphasizes several times is that service to others is the key to succes and happiness. One particular phrase that struck me was that "service comes disguised as work." How very true! Most of us don't naturally want to serve others. But Winget says this is the surest way the what we want!
In my opinion some other points worth remembering are:
Nothing in life gets better until you get better;
Enjoy your life while you are trying to improve it;
Sometimes work is just work.
Get it, read it, get mad and start changing!

Rating: Summary: Very Practical book. Review: Feels like Fresh air among self-help farts out there....
Not a "feel-good" or "you can do anything and everyhing" kind of self-help book.
More like a honest friend/sibling yelling at you because he/she is sick and tiered of your bad attitude.
Only problem I have about it is the price.
How about Pricing it around $15..?
Rating: Summary: Everyone needs to read this book Review: Great book that addresses the ills of society resulting from the general lack of personal responsibility...in a very humorous, readable format.
Rating: Summary: In Your Face, What You Need to Hear to Succeed! Review: I have been an avid reader of self developement books for over 20 years. I bought this one on the reccomendation of Randy Gage (I'm sure many of you know who he is) and I have to say without reservation that this is the best book I have read in years.
No namby pamby feel good sugar coated nonsense here. Just in your face plain truth straight talk, what most people need to hear but no one has the guts to say to thier faces!
I found myself agreeing with about 97% of the content, but the presentation was hilarious. I found myself laughing out loud on more than one occasion, and am so glad I found this guy!
Buy this book you will not regret it!
Rating: Summary: If your life stinks its your fault Review: I said it a long time ago "if your life stinks it's your fault" and I finally found another no BS writer who feels the same way. This is a "can't put it down read" and believe me I don't say that about many GURU's out there spouting the same old tired garbage. If you don't believe me check out www.claudediamond.com and see for yourself. One of my favorite sayings from my "Mentor Books is "if working hard is the key to success than why isn't my garbage man driving a Mercedes ?"
Larry says it better than anyone I have read in a long time; buy this book

Rating: Summary: You Can No Longer Claim Ignorance Review: On page 79 Larry writes: " If you do not know any better, then you are ignorant. If you know better, then you are stupid."
This is an easily read sometimes hard to face book. When you finish reading, you will know better. If you don't do anything different, you're stupid.

Rating: Summary: A very unique approach to changing your life Review: Winget takes a completely different approach to getting people to improve their lives from most other self help books. Many of his suggestions run completely counter that of other self help gurus and many of them are intended to be rude wake-up calls.
If you are open-minded, I don't think that Winget's ideas will seem as offensive as he makes them out to be, but I do think they will get you thinking about the way you approach things in your own life and how you might like to change your approach.
This book is highly recommended for anyone who is ready to make an effort on their own part to make positive changes in their lives.
