Rating: Summary: The Flawless Miror Review: For anyone who is a devotee of Sri. Yogananda this will be an interesting window back in time to his early years in L.A. The author met the great Swami in 1925 and along with her mother she developed a close guru/disciple relationship with him. The book is told mainly through diary entries andletters over the course of 27 years. The first third of the narrative is fragmented and at timessimple, but as the story progresses you begin to see that the author is more interested in her Guruthan on explaining herself. Most of the explainations of Yogaanada's teachings are basic and are better studied from the source, howeverconsidering that the book was first published in '64 at a time when the public at large knew zipabout SRF/YSS this is a minor concern. It would have been interesting if Kamala had recorded some of the names of fellow disciples in a few of the stories just for gereral interest but a number of the stories along with her "yogic dreams"(her term) really make the book a fasinating read.
