Rating: Summary: Good Book Review: I did not like this book. The author talks about her sexual adiction. And how she went from one man to another. There's also some talk about her relationship with her husband Andrew. The book is both boring and slow pace. Also she included a page were here and her friends make up ryhmes about Jeffery Dahmer's victims. She should have thought about the family's of these people.
Rating: Summary: A Beautiful & Heartbreaking Memoir Review: If the subject matter was not compelling enough, you should read this book simply to marvel at the stunning prose. I was swept up from page one, and couldn't put it down. Reveals, as no other book I know of, what the mindset of addiction is. Sue Silverman may be one of the bravest people I know of....certainly the most brutally honest. One of the sections that broke my heart was when the author, a young college student then, was on her way to meet the married lover she has been having an affair with...and she is cornered along the way by two men with a knife who want to rape her. Her addiction to what she believes is love, (making men want her (love her)by giving them her body), is so twisted at that point that she actually feels sorry for the would-be rapists, and somehow honored that they would pick her. Ms Silverman was sexually abused as a child by her father...and to see her move from that horror... to life, thanks in part to the wonderful therapist who helps her see the real person she is, was simply beautiful. You cannot help but love Sue Silverman, and you will love this book.

Rating: Summary: This Book Makes me Think and Know my Power Review: Oh my God. I'm not done with the book yet, but I haven't been able to put it down. I'm a college student, yet this is the first book in years that I have been able to read so quickly, with so much pleasure. Silverman speaks to the depths of my memories. Previously being bulimic and addicted to harmful men, the author speaks to the pains of my soul. I recommend this book for anyone with sex and/or eating disorders. Her language is so vivid, so harsh, so unmistakenly real. I run home every evening because I can't wait to read the next chapter. This book is not full of psychology jargon, and reads easy for someone coping or a professional expert. Enjoy it, I sure am.
Rating: Summary: The Truth Review: Sue William Silverman reveals herself so honestly, I can only admire her. It seems trite to say she is "courageous" but yet cannot think of a better word. (I don't think I'd be able to do it!) And she does it with so much insight that telling it all has a real purpose and is not self pity. She clearly has come through a lot and is to be commended for sharing her newfound insight with those of us who are too good at hiding the truth to get proper help! I spent some years living a sexually compulsive life and have found the path away from it to be long. At this point I can't even recognize myself, I've changed so much, but still found reading this book to be very healing and affirming, and that her insight helped clarify some issues that have come up for me, as I deal with the truth.

Rating: Summary: A Brave Memoir Review: Sue William Silverman's book is a rare gift, for not often are an addict's motiviations and emotions shared so candidly by someone who knows them so well. Silverman's insights are poignant, but revealed without self pity. The writing is sleek, interweaving past, present, and fantasy seamlessly. I saw myself in those pages, more often than I'd care to admit. I'm sure this memoir will arouse some very raw nerves. I am grateful for Silverman's generosity. She faces her demons head on, and so very, very, bravely.
Rating: Summary: BORING........ Review: THIS BOOK GOES NOWHERE,THE MAIN CHARACTER TALKS ABOUT HER LONGING AND COMPLUSIVE DESIRE FOR MEN.YET SHE DOES'NT TALK ABOUT WHY & HOW SHE DEVELOPED THE ADDICTION.THE STORY IS TOO SLOW MOVING.SHE TALKS ABOUT HER MEN FRIENDS .YET THERE ALL BORING AND UNINTERESTING.ALL IN ALL FOR ME THIS WAS A DISAPPIONTING READ.
Rating: Summary: Good Book Review: This book was helpful to me in understanding my wife, who is a sex addict. It was insightful to read the words of the author who suffers from the same compulsion and how it has governed her life.
Rating: Summary: Boring Review: This is a book about one lady's struggle with sex addiction. She talks about her longing and desire for sex and dangerous men.She also talks about the men.Yet the men sound boring and the pace of the book is slow. Also she doesn'nt go into how she came to aquire this addiction. Also there's a part in the book I found very rude & hurtful. It's when she and her firends are dicussing Jeffery Dahmer and her friend Jill starts making up ryhmes about his vimtims.I think this was truly tacky and the writer should have consider the feelings of the vitims family.
