Rating: Summary: Can't wait for the movie! Review: As a film producer, I get to read many books in galley form. This was one of the most enjoyable reads I've had in years. The story continues to surprise throughout the book. I loved it.
Rating: Summary: Amazing and inspirational story Review: I never take time to post reviews about books, but I had to comment on this one. I couldn't put this book down. I was especially moved by Rabbi Borovitz's definition of love, which you'll have to wait until near the end to discover. But it's so worth the wait. What an amazing story!
Rating: Summary: Couldn't put it down! Review: Like another reviewer, I don't typically take the time to write a review of books I read. As the wife of an inmate who is changing his life for the better while incarcerated, I seek out inspirational stories of people who have hit rock bottom and have used that experience to reach out to others. I read a short review of this story in Reader's Digest and decided to seek it out.
I read it cover to cover in a Saturday afternoon. The author is so frank, honest, and REAL. His story gives me hope for my husband's future, and proves that good can come after a life of mistakes.
Rating: Summary: A Must-Read Memoir Review: The heart of this story lies in Borovitz's journey to the depths of darkness and the road to redemption. It's not some corny self-help book, but rather an American memoir, one where a convicted felon becomes a loved and respected rabbi. I read this book cover to cover one rainy night, curled up in bed, and not only laughed out loud, but cried, held my breath, and had to put it down because I didn't want it to end. Although he happens to be Jewish, people of all faiths can appreciate this story for the human qualities it so honestly discusses: hope, failure, faith, fear, disappointment, and love.
Rating: Summary: Great Story Review: What a great story. It really makes you feel like anything is possible.Very inspiring. I couldn't put it down.
