Summary: Dr. Weekes understands how to cure panic
Review: ...it is listening to her audio cassettes! Dr. Weekes is such a great speaker, and she speaks very firmly, yet remains very comforting... it's like getting an audio tape from your mother (if your mother is a world-renouned doctor! lol). Hope and Help for Your Nerves is also a great book to read, by Dr. Weekes, but I would almost recommend the tapes over the book for starters, just because you can put it in and feel like she is right there with you, helping you through your anxiety. A must-hear!

Summary: Makes A Lot Of Sense
Review: Dr Weekes message is so clear and calming. Acceptance. Sure it's not easy to do. But its something you can do for yourself.
It won't make you sick or have any side effects like the means of prozac or zoloft etc. And the bonus is your self-esteem. You did it yourself without the use of drugs. I'm aware of the necessity of drugs sometimes, but I'm really trying to do it naturally with the help of acupuncture and Dr. Weekes. She had a rare understanding of people and will be missed, however her teachings will live on through us who have had the insight to listen and learn from her.

Summary: The reassuring voice of Dr. Claire Weekes.
Review: Dr. Weekes' "Pass Through Panic" audio tapes provide a useful follow-up to her two exceptional books on panic and nervous suffering. I discovered the availability of the tapes years after I had read the books over and over again. I do recommend using Dr. Weekes' materials in that order: books first, and then the tapes. The tapes repeat, in a most personalized way, much of the material in the books. But, here you have the advantage of her strong, decisive but always reassuring, calm voice. Panic need not rule one's life. Dr. Weekes says as much with great authority and experience in the treatment of the problem. Always with warmth (much firmness, too), she builds the listener's confidence, urging every sufferer to heed her words and knowledge. A pioneer in what we now know as cognitive therapy, Dr. Weekes dispells the commonly held fears that assail the panic-stricken person. "Listen to me," she seems to command in a rich alto voice that delivers the messages of "acceptance," "floating," and "glimpsing" that will soon become familiar, helpful terms in coping with, and coming out of, states of nervous anxiety. Here are two wonderful tools to pack with a small tape player in one's purse or suitcase on that short or long trip...just in case.

Summary: Better than any current "pill" could do...
Review: I have dealt with anxiety disorder for many years, most of those in an abject misery of non-living, until finally a counselor recommended Dr Weekes to me. Whereas a pill can help deaden the sensations, Dr Weekes has taught me how to turn off the panic button inside of myself. I still have moments of anxiety, but she has taught me how to stop the sudden rush of adrenalin from turning into blinding panic. This has given me my life, and she has my eternal gratitude. I recommend her techniques to everyone that i know who suffers from anxiety issues, I only hope that someday someone will listen to me, a person who's first recorded anxiety attack was at the age of 3; a person who knows that this is the real answer.

Summary: THIS IS WHAT A SELF-HELP TAPE SHOULD BE
Review: I just love Dr. Weekes's work. I first had my Panic Attacks(PA) /Agoraphobia in the early 70's. That was a time when PA, in my city were unheard of. I was very lucky because I was led to her books called Peace From Nervous Suffering, Hope and Help for your Nerves and at that time she had produced records..tapes were to be made available to me a bit later. I used to iron clothes and try to do housework listening to these records and reading the books. By 1977 I had enough glimpses to give me insite into what was happening. Once I purchased her tapes Good Morning, Goodnite, Going on Holiday, Nervous Fatigue etc. I made even more progress. By learning about myself through her books, records and tapes I was able to return to school..(at the time I had 3 children in school)..and upgrade myself from a Grade X education to a University Degree. It took me 7 years and even tho I had 3 children I looked good and not much older than most of the grads. I was also chosen Validictorian at the Graduation Class. Sometimes I would be very tired and would need to spend some time listening to Dr. Weekes because occassionally my body would still react. Gradually, if I had symptoms heart pulpations I had come so far with the Dr. Weekes that I could go through in short time. Lately, out of curiosity I purchased her tapes (thru Amason.com) on Pass Through Panic. It is just wonderful. Some say she is too authoritian!... To me she is kind and reassuring. She knows what's she talking about. I wanted help and I had to find it for myself. I realized early in my PA that there was no "magic chair". I highly recommend her to anyone who wants to recover. She is right it is possible.

Summary: There's a more positive approach
Review: I've listened to tons of tapes including expensive multi-tape courses on panic and anxiety. This is the first one that explains the cause and a simple solution to your illness. My doctor put me on drugs which helped, but this tape is helping me get off drugs and back to a more normal life I can enjoy. Dr. Week's has the most wonderful voice with an Aussie (and something else I can't place) accent, it's fun to listen to her.

Summary: Thank God for Claire Weekes
Review: These tapes have helped me understand the anxiety and panic that I'm feeling. Dr. Weekes has a wonderful way of emphasizing her points and making you feel like you can conquer this illness. Her legacy is helping me and hundreds of others like me and for that I am grateful. Her methods and beliefs really do help to soothe the sensitized nerves of an anxious sufferer. These tapes are WELL worth the price.

Summary: Stop your anxiety and depression cycle
Review: Winston Churchill called it the "black dog" when he suffered from clinical depression. Abraham Lincoln is reported to have had periods of depression as well... Some have called depression the "common cold" of psychology, but those who have suffered from clinical depression know that such a comparison doesn't even come close to describing the terrible emotional and mental pain of clinical depression. Sufferers have a tremendous need for relief. Much research has been done on depression, but a lot of ignorance still seems to exist on the essentials. With so much information in the literature, it can be confusing sorting it all out. Claire Weekes probably boiled it all down most succinctly in her book, "Peace from Nervous Suffering," and her audio cassette tape set, "Pass Through Panic : Freeing Yourself from Anxiety and Fear." She explains that depression is really depletion, usually from fatigue or exhaustion. Just as an over-used muscle becomes depleted of energy and therefore exhausted, so does the overused brain (as can hormone-producing glands). Just as the tired muscle is depleted of the biochemicals that provide energy, so the tired mind is depleted of the biochemicals, called neurotransmitters, that allow proper brain function. The "spark" is gone, and nothing seems interesting or enjoyable. If pessimism takes hold, a downhill spiral can result. Dr. Weekes explains how to break the cycle of anxiety, depletion, depression, more anxiety, etc.
