Rating: Summary: 'The curse' is your comedic cure Review: This autobiographical debut by Ms. Schlosberg is the hilarious account of her 1001 days without sex. ANY woman who has ever been single will relate to Suzanne's dilemnas- family members wondering why she's not married as she's over 30, attending weddings solo when everyone else seems to have a signficant other, etc. She literally travels all over the globe looking for the man who she will deem worthy of breaking her sex-less streak. She volunteers, uses match.com, moves to a new city and travels constantly in her pursuit. Perhaps the most refreshing thing about this book is that Suzanne is smart and confident and knows all along that a man will not make her 'complete' She's just like any other single gal out there. Holding out for someone special. You will root for her, sympathize with her and laugh at her misadventures all the way to the last page. Don't miss The Curse of the Singles Table- it's fantastic fun.
Rating: Summary: Loved it! Review: This book rocked my world. It was funny as hell, poignant, and insightful. As a 30-something single, I have, unfortunately, experience many of the things that Susan writes about in her book including online dating, going to extremes to find Mr. Perfect, horrendous blind dates, familial pressure, and the constant worry "is it me?" Anyway, if you want to truly laugh outloud, this is the book for you.
Rating: Summary: Side-splitingly funny! A MUST READ! Review: This is one of the best books I've read in a long time and one I will surely read again. I'm recently divorced and found so much to relate to and laugh about--even though I'm coming at it from the opposite side of the coin. Suzanne has a very funny and friendly writing style--a must read for any girl who wants a good laugh!
Rating: Summary: THANK YOU SUZANNE! Review: This was a definite page-turner! You kept my interest from cover to cover. I like how this book crosses age differences (I'm 40), marital status (single or married), almost every woman could relate to the sometimes humorous horrors of dating either on-line or off, and gender - I know of several men who would love and relate to this book. I found myself laughing outloud in public at the perfect, descriptive pictures you painted, relating and sympathizing to your countless experiences. It even inspired me to get out and travel more (probably not your intent), and to NOT give up hope in finding Mr. Right. I enjoyed all the family and "cabinet member's" advice given you for your (single) life. The book left me happy. You have a wonderful way with words and I can't wait to read your future work. Thank you!
Rating: Summary: The Curse of the Singles Table: A True Story of 1001 Nights Review: Truth is stranger than fiction. I loved this book! I saw a quick review of this book and went out and bought it. It is so funny to know that "other women" have gone through what you have. Internet dateing from hell to wanting to move or take a trip. I bought this book for a summer read and it was so fast moving I finished the book in a few days. I even sent e-mails to "My Cabinet" friends and told them to read it. It is odd how you think someone who is sucessful has everyhting, what could she want. Read the book and your find out what was missing. This is on my top ten books of all times.
Rating: Summary: I loved this book Review: When I wasn't laughing, all I could think of when I was reading this book was, thank goodness this was happening to someone else! Is that awful to say? Actually, despite everything Suzanne had to go through to find a great guy to have sex with, she somehow was able to find the humor in every situation -- certainly more than I ever would have been able to do! I've never had a "streak" even half as long as long as Suzanne's, but I could relate to so much of what she wrote about, especially that "great divide" between you and your married friends. I'm recommending this book to all my single friends!
