Summary: A MUST BOOK1
Review: This book is wonderful, and a real tonic for anyone who doesn't want to accept that ageing is inevitable. Tonya gives the reader real hope on every page. By simply changing to a raw food lifestyle you can experience amazing changes to your face and body, just as Tonya has, who looks fabulous. I've read other books on the raw food lifestyle, and many talk about endless supplements and herbs you have to buy to achieve results. Tonya,on the other hand, doesn't use any supplements. Just natural wholesome food that nature has provided. She has proved that you don't need to spend a fortune to look amazing. I've been following the raw diet for 3 months now and already love it, and have noticed positive improvements in my appearance. Tonya says it takes about a year for the body to cleanse itself completely, and that is around the time when you can look forward to meeting the most beautiful you, and achieve optimum health. Tonya explains everything in detail, and the science behind it all, and it all makes such sense. This book is a real inspiration, especially for those, like me, who are over 40, and had given up hope of ever looking good again. Following Tonya's example, I too can look forward to looking the absolute best I can be, and that is the best tonic ever! Thanks so much Tonya for writing this book, and I look forward to devouring your next book.

Summary: Amazing Book!
Review: This book is written for people who like to have raw food. It is very well written. The author knows what she is doing and she is an expert in it, though you may doubt her reasoning ability. She could have given more about seaweed diet and fasting. According to the author there is a definite link between your appearance and what you eat.
Since I have been on this diet, all the cravings for junk food have gone. I was someone who lived for sugar and now I do not want any of it. I use to crave coffee in the morning as well but realized I didn't want that wired up feeling & acid stomach. I switched over to a caffeine-free coffee substitute made from soyabeans I found on the net at www.
S o y c o f f e e.c om. It so easy for someone to tell you to eat less, but if you are craving bad foods, eventually you will fail. In the first five days I was on this diet all the craving ceased and I was already 8 lbs down. If you were like me and cannot wait for your next slice of cake and at the same time really want to change your lifestyle, Try this.

Summary: Your Right to be Beautiful
Review: This is a MUST read for someone wanting to take care of their body naturally and slow the effects of aging! It's loaded with easy to understand information vital to taking care of your body the very best way - all raw. If you are searching for a raw food book to explain the benefits and rewards of living raw, I would definitely recommend "Your Right to be Beautiful". I am especially enjoying the beauty tips in the chapter "Daily Aid in Your Beauty Crusade" and loving the recipes in "Recipes For the Most Beautiful You" As is clear in Tonya's book, take care of the body God gave you, it was wonderfully and miraculously made!

Summary: No advice for adopting the raw food lifestyle
Review: This is the first review that I have ever written, and I am writing this review because I think that the book is highly overrated and that this is a problem for those considering buying this book. Like others, I am sure, I use reviews to determine whether to buy a book. But this is the first book that received mostly five stars that I regret buying.

The reason why I regret buying this book is because the book is not very helpful in adopting the raw foods lifestyle. Rather than giving any practical advice, the book rambles on about beauty (the author discuss beauty envy, famous "beauties" of our generation, etc.) and gives some basic facts and generalities about the raw food diet, most of which are obvious to anyone who knows even a modicum about it (e.g., don't eat meat, dairy, and wheat--pretty obvious, eh?). It is clear that the author is totally obsessed with beauty, and so the book reads like what you would imagine one of her rants on beauty would sound like in person. Of course, there are some interesting facts scattered throughout the book, but not enough to make it worth buying. Also, while the author certainly knows a lot, you sometimes may doubt her reasoning ability based on some of the far-fetched conclusions she comes to. She also talks a lot about creationism, and her health theories are intimately tied with her religious beliefs. The most helpful things I learned from this books are the benefits of eating seaweed and fasting (though these sections are only a cursory foray into these areas), and that's about it (save a few random factoids).

So my advice is don't buy this book if you need advice on how to transition to a raw food diet or what a raw foodist eats on a typical day; the book is mainly an argument for why the author belives the raw food diet will make you beautiful (but there are still too few facts!!). You might want to consider buying this book only if you need inspiration to adopt the raw foods lifestyle, especially if you are doing it for beauty reasons, or perhaps if you want some basic facts on the raw food diet (i.e., you know nothing about it). However, I personally find the "I became a raw foodist and cured myself of disease X" stories more inspiring than arguments about how beautiful you will become, so if you are like me, I recommend just looking up such testimonials online, rather than buying this book. Finally, because I was so disappointed with the content of this book in comparison to what I was expecting giving the glowing reviews, I can only surmize that many of the authors friends wrote the reviews; she is from TN and a number of reviews appear to be from there. I hope this review helps!

Summary: THE REAL DEAL
Review: Whether you are new to the idea of eating a raw food diet, or you are very familiar with it but need additional inspiration, or if you are looking for information to help you bring out your most beautiful self, THIS IS THE BOOK FOR YOU. I had already read about ten books promoting a 100% raw diet, but as a woman always interested in trying to take good care of my appearance, this book really jumped off the shelf at me. Tonya has an attitude; we have a "right" to be beautiful. I like that attitude. It is the right to be the very best we personally can be in terms of our skin, our hair, our figure, and every other good attribute that comes from a genuinely healthy body.

You can get by with a poor diet for a long time when you are young. As long as you don't eat so much you become overweight, or bake you skin in the sun so much you start to dry up early, or suffer from serious acne, youth is kind to most people. Not so middle age and later. Now nature starts to get very tired of the abuse of a poor diet and other poor health habits, and when nature gets mad - you're going to feel it and you're going to see it in the mirror. Ouch. But there is hope. It won't be easy and it won't be fast, but it will be the real deal, for no lotion or potion or doctor's office has to offer what Tonya has to offer if you are willing to follow her recommendations - your most beautiful self based on true health. It's the beauty program for your insides as well as your outsides.

Having read about 100 books on nutrition, I can tell you that Tonya Zavasta knows her stuff, and she communicates it in a way that is both informative and highly enjoyable to read. I liked it so much, I'm reading it again.

If you are a man who really isn't that concerned with appearances, don't ignore this book. A small part of it will not be for you, but the health information most definitely will be. Remember, Tonya is not focusing on the usual beauty tips, this is the beauty of health and it is for everyone.

I've met Tonya. She's more beautiful in person. No air brushed pictures needed. She's the real deal.

Summary: ONE OF THE BEST BOOKS ON THE RAW DIET THAT I HAVE READ!!!
Review: Your Right to Be Beautiful is one of the best books on the raw diet that I have read. This book is extremely well researched and well written. I have read many different books on the raw foods diet and many times the authors are a little too far out for me. Tonya's book is very common sense, down to earth, and straight forward. I would highly recommend it.
