Summary: A must have for anyone facing a hysterectomy
Review: Wonderful book! Filled with lots of good information without having to wade thru the medical jargon. Face it, how many of us really understand those terms. I laughed and I cried, making this surgery much easier for me to go through. Whenever I was feeling sorry for myself I would pick up the book and check out some of the useful hints, such as using my old pads on my feet as floor dusters. LOL The book also provides real information such as the information about endometriosis and endo, I questioned my doctor and showed her the book. She agreed with the author and advised that she had already planned to hold off on hrt until it was absolutely necessary. If not for the book I would not have even asked. I applaud Kathy Kelley and all she has done for women who are facing hysterectomies. Please check out her website also. You will find a wonderful support group.

Summary: Practical advice and comforting humor
Review: Written by women who are considering or have had hysterectomy, this is a practical, agenda-free guide. The writers present alternatives and talk about getting second (and third) opinions. I've read several books on the topic of hysterectomy and this one, above all, provides frank (sometimes humorous) answers to all those basic questions: What can I expect at the hospital? How long will I be there? What should I take? What can I expect, physically, as I recover? How will I know if the hormone replacememt therapy is adjusted correctly? Every women considering hysterectomy - and every women who's had one and wonders if she's alone in how she's feeling now - should read this book!
