Review: This is the most up-to-date edition of a kind of minor classic, in that it is the first (and still the best) university-appropriate textbook concerned with the applying psychology to improving the world -- and especially oneself. This is the book that first set me on a very successful path of self-improvement, about 12 years ago. I recommend it, of course.
