Rating: Summary: Good recipes, not so well researched or organized Review: This book does not provide what I had hoped, which is some scientific research on raw food diets. The recipes are great, most are simple, familiar and tasty. Particularly for those who are already vegetarian or vegan. Fairly practical too. Her bias is still with the "health foody" movement, which relies on more specialized items than many of us have access to, and she approaches raw foods from an Eastern medicine mindset that may be unfamiliar. The book is rather disorganized, but has good tables for soaking and sprouting times for various grains and nuts (put a bookmark on this page). Overall, what is missing here and elsewhere is some serious scientific treatment of raw food nutrition. This could be done by somebody who IS a raw food convert, and still be done with little bias, and contain pros, cons, and solid information. Some of us want to have more than anecdotal evidence that it makes some people feel better. Until then, one can try it out and see how one feels.
