Rating: Summary: Delicious Recipes, Questionable Medicine Review: As the satisfied owner of the product featured in the book, I am thankful for the often delicious recipes that Mr. Kordich included in this book. However, I don't believe a word of the psuedoscience behind his dietary maxims. Kordich describes juice combinations that will restore one's pancreas, liver or skin. I think that certified nutritionists would find these allegations questionable. Kordich instructs the juicing public not to mix fruit and vegetable juice (with a few exceptions) and to not mix melon juice with other fruits (like they would produce toxic gas or explode). The best advice is to use the juice as a tasty supplement to ensure decent nutrition, follow the recipes in "Power of Juicing," and read the rest for a laugh.
Rating: Summary: The book came with the juicer Review: Granted, the book came with the Juiceman II I recently bought....but thank goodness! It has a wealth of info for a novice juicer, which not only contains many recipes, but breaks down into sections so that you can look up various fruits and vegetables to read about their healthful benefits and instructions on how to buy/store; also has sections on minerals (and which foods to juice to get them), and a list of various health ailments and the juices that help overcome them. These sections make it easy to look up the answers to the many questions you will have if you're new to juicing, as am I. Try the fresh pineapple juice!! It's unbelieveably tasty!!
Rating: Summary: Fantastic Juiceing Reference Review: I bought this book to use with my juicer. The references on the nutrients and benifits of individual fruits and vegetables is fantastic. When I had the flu I used parsley and garlic (the book references these as beneficial to the imune system) mixed with other non green vegetables (garlic and parsley are very strong) and I woke up the next day like I never had the flu with no medecine side effects. I also juiced watermellon with the rind as a thirst quencher after workouts - gatorade cannot match the hydrating effects of this one. Granted Juicing can be a bit of work but even the benifits of one 8-10 oz. glass a day can be felt. The book has many recepies, Jay's story, and much needed advice such as vegitable juice oxidizing to toxic levels in 24 hours. That's why you must consume your juice within a few hours, and V8 must be heated and pasturized nutrilizing most of the juice benifits. Juicing can replace many vitamines and added enzymes people take and help your general health in so many ways. This book is well worth the price.
Rating: Summary: A Must Have Review: I purchased this book to use with my juicer. It's only been 2 weeks, and I have had such a great time with this book. There are recipes for ever kind of aliment you can think of. Even after 2 weeks, I have noticed a difference in my skin, hair, nails and body in general. If you are ready to give juicing a try and learn about what and why you are juicing, this is the book for you.
Rating: Summary: Cheesy but cheap Review: If you can get past the part about how juicing will save the world, then there are some tasty recipes here. And as a paperback book, it fits in anyone's budget.
Rating: Summary: the original juicing book! Review: I`ve had this book for several years and its great. There are many delicious recipes in it.There are even recipes for specific ailments.Jay Kordich is the original juice man! Alot of people have jumped on the juicing bandwagon, like cherie Calbom and Jack Lalanne, but Jay was the very first to promote juicing.
Rating: Summary: EXCELLENT BOOK FOR JUICING BEGINNERS Review: the recipes are EASY, FUN, FAST! This book is fabulous. I love the glossary in the back that details exactly what each vegetable & fruit is good for, what diseases they fight, etc. I absolutely recommend this book to any and everyone who loves vegetable and fruit juices. This book is truly a gift to share with others. Just like my new beverage of choice that replaced my morning brew. Its called s oyfee and taste so wonderful with no caffeine or acids. Organic and made from soya! Bye bye acid stomach and hello healthy tummy! Google it under "acid free coffee".He makes it both fun and easy to create your own juice bar, right in your very own kitchen.I reccomend this book to anyone that wants to live a long and juiceful life.
Many people do not understand the life restoring powers behind juice, after all, as the Juiceman says 'You squeeze a carrot, not a drop comes out. Yet when put into the Juiceman, we get a whole glassful!' What flows into that glass is pure life. When you get your copy of the Juiceman's Power of Juicing and you see Jay on the cover, you know that he immediately becomes your life partner, and by life partner I mean that he, and you, will make you into a young, fit, disease free human being.
Rating: Summary: A life changing book for me Review: This book along with Dr. Norman Walker's "Fresh Vegetabels and Fruit Juice" helped me begin my quest and desire to mostly eat and drink raw fruits and vegetables. Ten years ago as a first-year graduate student at UC Santa Barbara I found myself with an acne problem that had plagued me for the last 5 years, despite ingesting numerous antibiotics. Moreover, my eyes were beginning to tire easily. Then one day I stumbled upon this book by Dr. Walker which from the onset made complete sense to me. Around the same time I saw an infomercial advertising the Juiceman Jr. which I bought the next week (and it hasn't failed me since!), along with the "Power of Juicing" book and began a regimen of fresh juice three times a day, using many of the recipes and suggestions from both books. Some amazing things began to progess over the next year:! i) my acne not only completely disappeared, but I found myself having a very youthful, vibrant look. I looked better than I had ever in the past. ii) I lost 15 pounds in one year and became a star on the softball field. iii) I have not touched my reading glasses in the past 9 years. In the words of Jack Lalane (who is older and more fit than 99.99% of all other Americans) "If man made it, I don't eat it".One note on juicers: low-rpm juicers which press the juice now offer a nice alternative to the Juiceman or any other of the centrifugal juicers. They seem easier to clean and produce a higher yield of vitamins and less oxidation. I recommend Samson 6 in 1 juicer which has a 5 year warranty on the auger (like a drill bit which is used to press the juice) and a 10 year warranty on the motor. The revolution does not begin in the streets, but rather with a tall class of carrot and spinach!

Rating: Summary: a must have Review: This great little book is full of easy juicing recipes. Another good thing about this book is that Jay goes into detail about the vast, enormous benefits of a raw foods vegan diet. I am not a raw foodist, but as a vegan it is wonderful that Jay informs people who buy this book who may not be Vegan the simple fact that one can easily get calcium from other sources than cows milk. I have had a juicer for two years and still refer back to this book from time to time.
