Summary: The Smiling Preacher
Review: Brother Osteen is a motivator and encourager. He is called to uplift the hurting, the depressed, the low self-esteem. He motivates you to do better with your life -- to move forward in a positive manner. He's not a "hell fire and brimstone" preacher. Neither is he a "love thy brother" preacher. His oracle is called to that of Motivator/Encourager. Every man is given a calling according to his oracles and Brother Osteen's is that of a motivator/encourager. If you want "hell, fire and brimstone" preaching, then listen to John Hagee. If you want "miracle" preaching, then listen to Benny Hinn. If you want "comedy" preaching, then listen to Jesse Duplantis.

I would like to recommend a wonderful book recommended to me called WOMAN TAKE YOUR POSITION by Beverly Rolyat. This book will help thousands, perhaps millions of women understand their position in the kingdom of God. It is especially good for those of you who are looking to getting married and definitely a great book for those of you who are in a marriage.

Summary: Love this book
Review: I have read many wonderful books, (Think & Grow Rich, Power vs. Force, Emotional Intelligence, Your Body Believes every Word You Say, etc.) this book is awesome. I am very grateful for a Minister that reminds us that God is all loving, all knowing, all forgiving. Sincerely Elke Keil, CA

Summary: It's Working for Me.
Review: I have recommended this book to every one who reads books and seeks or is in a relationship with God. I used to get annoyed when I complimented someone on his or her success and they told me it was all God's doing. Since reading this book, taking it to heart and practicing what it teaches, things have changed for me. And it is all God's doing.

At first I thought why would God do all this for me? Here's the deal -- once you start thanking God for his favor, you act differently. You think twice before doing all those minor corrupt things that you used to do. You can't thank God for his favor and then (for example) buy a dress, wear it and take it back. You can't thank God for his favor and then listen to vicious gossip, or worse, spread it. You even take stuff you don't want and put it back on the correct shelf at the grocery store. You truly become what God wants you to be and as a result you receive God's favor. If you want a better life, read the book and practice what it preaches. For those that don't get it, too bad for you.

Summary: Simply Uplifting
Review: I watch Joel Osteen every Sunday morning and consider this my "church" time. I don't need to be in a room with others to hear and be uplifted by Joel's message. His message is often simple and filled with common sense- but isn't all religious doctrine the same? We all know what we should do to live life well- however, it helps to hear the message over and over again to remind us of what is right and good for us.I enjoy reading Joel's book in the evening before I go to sleep. His words are positive and help to focus my mind on the good I have within and the good that I can bring into my life if I choose to do the right thing for myself and others. If you want a simple text on how to stay focused and positive in your life- Joel Osteen's book does the job!

Summary: Highly recommended
Review: If you find yourself watching Joel on television, you'll enjoy this book. It's not a bunch of fluff -- it has a lot of good concepts presented in Joel's trademark happy, positive way of presenting information. It really does work.

I own both the book and the audio version and prefer the audio. I've had a bad habit of buying books and not reading them... so when I saw Your Best Life Now on audio cd read by Joel Osteen himself, I jumped at the opportunity. Get both.

Summary: Two questions...
Review: In what part of the Bible does it tell Christians to build their kingdoms on earth? Doesn't it say quite the opposite?

Review: More of the same Charismaniac crap that says God is a slot machine . Say the right prayer and give enough of your money away and one day three cherries will come up and your ship will come in. Haven't we learned from the likes of Kenneth Copeland, Fred Price or Benny the "Healer"Hinn that the only one getting rich off of these books, tapes,DVDs etc.. is these clowns who are selling them. I pray that Conservative America wakes up to this mega scam called " Word Faith". It should be called WORD FAKE. By the way I am a Christian , just not a gullible one.

Summary: Save your funny money and your valuable time
Review: People say, "Don't judge a book by its cover". However, just reading the title is enough to make anyone with a shred of common sense think that it promotes the self above Almighty God. A Puritan named John Owen said it best on the title book of his first book A Display of Arminianism -- Self-exaltation Fights Against God (when you translate it from Greek to English). A title like the one on Mr. Osteen's book says nothing about humility. I admit that I have not read the book, but I also am letting it be known that it is not worth wasting your finite time here on Earth reading it when it's evident that Mr. Osteen is, at best, an Arminian heretic mixed with postive-confessionism. Even Rick Warren is better than Mr. Osteen -- and Warren's exegesis leaves much to be desired!!!

Summary: Teaches that God wants you to use your talents
Review: This is a good book for what it is - a very solid message that God wants us all to lead the best possible life that we can given the potential, talents, and opportunities that we are presented with. I agree with and respect the criticism of some of the materialistic comments and examples that Osteen speaks of, but overall this book is uplifiting and encouraging with a Christian foundation. What blows my mind are the negative reviews in here from people who have admittedly not even read the book! How can you review a book you haven't read?? It is worth the read in my humble opinion.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: encouraging
Review: This is an uplifting and encouraging book.In my opinion many will be blessed by reading this acount of God's power and ability to bless those who put him number one in their life.
