Summary: One great book!
Review:
One great book, i really like the part that it tells you both attack and defence combos. In the begining it tells how to, rather than you figuring it out for yourself. Thre are n rules in a street fight, no one is there to save when you do a whirl kick and miss. The best way to save yourself is to end it before it begins, and that is the essence of this, to brutally take out your oppoment BEFORE he gets the chance.

Summary: Practical Assessment of Traditional Methods...
Review: Author Greg Jones presents the style of Jimmy Woo (not to be confused with James Wing Woo) in a practical and complete light. A brief history of Jimmy Woo's San Soo Kung Fu is offered, with indepth handling of topics such as striking, leverage, balance, etc. There is a lot of writing in this book, it is not a picture how-to book. You will find a detailed explanation of how to understand why these methods work. Jones offers detailed reasoning behind all of the major theories of San Soo, and professionally shot photos give examples which help explain concepts. Jimmy Woo's San Soo is a descendent of Choi Li Fut kung fu, stripped down to its most practical elements. Woo was a strong believer in using what was effective and winning the battle without delay. Jones does an excellent job of explaining that message to those of us who haven't studied Woo's San Soo Kung Fu but would like to understand the concepts of the art and gain an insight into how a fighter and survivor like Jimmy Woo thought.

Summary: Great book!
Review: I got this book along with many others shortly after taking san soo classes. And of all the books I've read, this is the best written book on martial arts. It's clear and precise, and the techniques are VERY practical. It's unfortunate that san soo hasn't gotten too much exposure like the other forms of martial arts, because it can be utilize by a beginner effectively. I would recommend this book even if you are learning other forms of art.

Summary: What the Hell?
Review: It is a book that is barbaric Judo. It does not get intermediate or advanced, it is a bigginer Judo book with no technique. Little can be learned from this except how to injure a groin or poke out eyes.

Summary: Background information and philosopy of Kung-Fu San Soo.
Review: Master Greg Jones has a very solid and deep understanding of kung-fu san soo. It is evident in this well written and very articulate book on one of the most devastating martial arts currently taught to the public. Master Greg Jones ability to translate what he learned from the late Master Al Rubin into words is testimony to his knowledgable and extremely compentent training. This book will give the uninitiated to kung-fu san soo an excellent starting point on the art. This book is extremely useful for long time, experienced students of the art as a review and referrence manual. I bought this book in 1988 when it first came out, and have since read it five times. An excellent resource on the martial art of Kung-Fu San Soo!
