Summary: Not for the weak -minded
Review: Moriss' book reads like a guidline to find enlightnement. The personal experiences he shares w/his readers paint's a vivid, realistic and sometimes confusing picture. One must uncover certain horrifying and unknown truths to finally discover the beautiful and blissful realities that we all hold. Morris offers a brilliant ,pioneering beleif that unifies western(american philosophies)w/esoteric eastern studies.Socratess'well known saying "Know Thyself"is a building block for Moriss'quote"It is only through knowing yourself that true love and compassion evolve." I personally found the Introduction to Enlightenment intriguing. Moris relates to Freuds beleif of The Id &The Ego. Moris says that the Ego is a "learned self" & it is the "negative aspect "of the person. To be able to evolve spiritually one must let The Id rule . Moris says that people might beleive that this will result in "psychosis",but it will actually result in "tranccendence". In order to acheive true enlightnment one must kill The Ego.Chapter 2 Chi Kung &Kundalini opens a door of truth. He states that a person is constructed of a "collection of masks". People that dare to look underneath the masks will find shocking realities. Fears of failure &feelings of helplessness can be found at this layer. Those that are bold enough to dive deeper will find anger, resentment &envy. If we can live w/this reality and control these emotions we can lead a life of truth &harmony. To take posession of these dark realities will bring one closer to his or her true "animal nature" ,that which "is benevolent and caring".
Finally ,I thoroughly enjoyed this book, although I will say that it is not for the weak-minded or insecure person. It takes a strong character to determine if one has the ability, courage and or desire to discover the black truths .This discovery that will ultimately lead to bliss, joyful living & harmony.

Summary: Was forced to Read, but ended up enjoying it very much
Review: Morris's Book took me by suprise. I had to read it for a class tought by a good friend of mine, who studies Ninjutsu as a hobby, and its one of his favorite books. So I said what the hell. Now let me say if I didn't have to read this, I probably would have never picked it up, but the level of enjoymenmt I recieved from the experience was suprising. The level of insight he brings to the reading experience is wonderful. Though his experience with the kundalini is humorus, its amazingly detailed. His notes on what you should not do, are helpful for someone interested in studying the art. He has made me want to learn to read auras and get back into meditation. I whole heartly recomend this book if you interested in the art of Ninjutsu or if you just into esoteric studies in General. His easy to follow and understand instructions to being Chi Gung, other forms of energy work, including reading Auras and mediation are going to ocme in handy. Im looking forward to begin my studies as the opertunity has arisen. Thank you Glenn Morris, for the insight to begin.

Summary: Path Notes of an American NInja Master
Review: Path Notes of An American Ninja Master was an interesting book.
However, for me it was boring. I am interested in martial arts but not as deep as the book talks about it.
I do not believe that alot of this stuff bok would work for me. Fo instance meditation. I am not the most relaxed person and it is very dificult for me to clear my mind. Therefore meditating for me would not work.
On the plus side the book was very informative for those who are heavily into martial arts. It was also useful to those who are spiritual individuals.

Summary: One of the best books on real ninjutsu out there.
Review: There is a lot of bad information out there about real ninjutsu and the kundalini path of enlightenment. This book is NOT one of those. This book is one of the best sources of information on these subjects that you'll find without going to Japan. It's entertainingly written, full of information that you will find nowhere else, and pulls no punches at all. Martial arts books don't come any better than this. It's a book (with bibliography!) that is an example of what these books are supposed to be like.

Very highly recommended.

Summary: Different
Review: This book is defiantly in a category of its own. I must admit even after reading the book I am still skeptical about the workings of Chi and energy. The book does however give an interesting tail of the path of a true martial artist and the dedication they must undergo to achieve perfection. The writing style of this book is very straightforward in my opinion. It cuts to the chase and give step by step descriptions of various ninja skills and mediation techniques. The author is also very honest about his opinions and dosesn't hold back about his feelings for "typical americans". The only problem is the constant reference to foreign people, events, and places which requires the reader to do some of his/her own research to understnad. Overall I think anyone who is interested on what it takes to train in martial should read this book or even if you just want to learn what a true ninja is.

Summary: Adv Comp Review
Review: This book is extremely insightful, but only if you allow yourself to visualize Mr. Morris's ideas and suggestions. I, personally, do not find myself very interested in mysticism and all that Eastern stuff, but, I am not closed-minded. Using his own experiences, Morris clarifies certain ways one can find the "power" within himself. I am very bad, honestly, at keeping my mind clear, so the strategies, such as meditation were not made for me. With tools at his side, such as humor and sarcasm, Morris clears the path for any person on their way to becoming a "Ninja Master," revealing some of the do's and don'ts. Although the book was a bit confusing for me, I think it was well written for those whom it was intended for and can be of much use to certain individuals.

Summary: Nice read
Review: This book is nice to read if you are interested. But there is one shortcoming: all the exercises are described in a way that leaves room for some quessing, "I'm I doing this right?".

Summary: Not my cup of tea
Review: This book is not for everyone. If you are not familiar with enlightenment or martial arts you may find it confusing and ridiculous at times. I would only recommend this book to people who remotely understand what he is talking about. However, I found the chapter on meditation interesting. The various meditations were entertaining to perform. If I wasn't so dense about enlightenment and martial arts, I probably would have better understood the book and found it more enjoyable.
