Rating: Summary: Interesting. Review: After years of Aikido training I reached the conclusion that Japanese cannot articulate their thoughts about KI simply because, in so doing, they would have to admit that all the KI "stuff" comes from China. Even in this book Tohei sensei talks about positive and negative energy because he eventually doesn't want to use the terms Yin and Yang. This having said, this book offers an interesting perspective about the body energy as it is envisioned by Japanese. Tohei sensei reportedly is a man with immense KI. He is the only Great Master who received the 10th dan from O Sensei M. Ueshiba. In conclusion, if you want a Japanese perspective on KI, buy it. If you are a beginner and want to get started on your inner energy cultivation, I strongly suggest you to buy "Opening the Energy Gates of your Body" By Kumar Frantzis. If you are experienced in this field ... well you already know what you want to do.

Rating: Summary: A MUST READ! Review: I have been in the Martial Arts for ten years. In this time I have read many books about inner strength and KI. So far this one has topped them all. Koichi Tohei has written a masterpiece. "KI in Daily Life" has been the most accurate description so far of KI that I have read. It is ideal for the novice to advanced student. Tohei not only describes in detail mediataion, and excercises to build your inner power, but also pictures and demonstrations. In conclusion I recommend this book from the beginer to advance students in KI, and a must read for all Martial Artists.

Rating: Summary: Koichi Tohei's Ki in Daily Life Review: Sometimes you drift through life, wondering how things can ever get better. As for myself, buying this book turned out to be one of the major turning points in my life. This book is a must read for anyone who wants proof of the power of positive thinking. Trust me, it does work! The best part of the book (my own opinion), is actually found at the end of the book, under the "Thirteen Rules for Disciplinants". Apply these rules to your daily life (not just in Akido) and you will realise that "not to contend with others brings absolute victory" which parallels Sun Tzu's thinking that "to win without fighting is best". If everyone on Earth had a copy of this book, there would be no more unnecessary wars being waged. Koichi Tohei Sensei deserves the Nobel Peace prize for having generosity of spirit in sharing his revolutionary ideas with the rest of humanity!
Rating: Summary: Good start for beginners in ki-aikido Review: This book explains some very fascinating concepts in Ki. Definitely worth reading.
