Rating: 5 stars
Summary: a swimming bible
Review: This book has served me well as a coach for many years, and I have given it as a gift to several coaches and top swimmers. Whether or not you care to get lost in the endless debate over Bernoulli versus Newton, this book has much more to offer. I trained under Ernie Maglischo and this book has served as the marvelous manifestation of his patient and persistent work on deck. I recommend it without reservation.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Gives valuable information on all aspects of swimming.
Review: This book is very valuable if you want to have a good overview of the technical side of swimming. It provides you with a good background on swimmers' nutrition, training physiology and style techniques. Lots of statistics and results of experiments done by other researchers are cited. There are also two chapters dedicated to designing a training plan but unfortunately almost no examples. This book might be more interesting for coaches than for swimmers but it's a good reference book for anyone.

Summary: Top-notch swimming book.
Review: This is a very well written, technical book. It is great for coaches as well as competitive swimmers. It may be a little too technical for non-competitive swimmers. Out of my 10 swimming books, this one is by far my best!
