Rating: Summary: A good man and a good book Review: Master Bond's book is not only interesting but also very educational. I enjoyed reading about his life, his CHI METHOD, and his GREEN DIET. His instructions are easy to understand and simple to follow. I'm glad to have also gone to his classes. They are given free in beautiful Kapiolani Park in Honolulu, Hawaii. He is a very kind man to share his knowledge and his family's treasured chi kung sequence. This is a very useful book, especially if you're intrigued by the Chinese way of healing and good health.
Rating: Summary: Simple and effective Review: The exercises in "The First 16 Secrets of Chi" are excellent retardents for the "aging process"; joint stiffen & muscles lose strength & elasticity. The exercises are simple but effective - no equipment except "will power". The best part is that they can be done sitting down, lying down or standing. All 16 need not be done at one time. The whole routine promotes well-being for both the young and old.
Rating: Summary: Many Thanks to Master Bond Review: I have learned the breathing and deep breathing from this book, "The First 16 Secrets of Chi". It has really helped me and it has a very good diet chapter, as well, showing me how to balance the yin and yang energy. I highly recommend the book to any age or population.
Rating: Summary: Thank you Master Bond Review: I have read Master Luk Chun Bond's book, THE FIRST 16 SECRETS OF CHI, FENG SHUI FOR THE HUMAN BODY, and attend his classes held at Kapiolani Park in Honolulu, Hawaii. I am an asthmatic, with asthma which was so severe at one time, that I had difficulty walking and climbing stairs, and spent a lot of time in hospital emergency rooms, awaiting medical treatment to help me breathe easier, sometimes being admitted to the hospital by emergency room doctors. Because CHI KUNG is a form of breathing power therapy, learning how to breathe deeply and properly has helped me to strengthen my lungs and I no longer need to take my daily asthma medication, nor do I experience asthma attacks which require hospitalization. The most dramatic event which occurred and proved how beneficial CHI KUNG has been for me was when the elevator broke down in a high-rise building in downtown Honolulu, where I work part time. All of the elevators were shut down as a result. The building security officer allowed those of us who had to get to work on the upper floors to use the back stairs. My office was on the twenty-first floor of the building and I was able to climb those flights of steep stairs with only one small rest stop, arriving at my office with no breathing problems. Thanx to CHI KUNG, today, I walk miles to get to places I need to get to without having to stop to catch my breath and climbing stairs is no longer a burden for me.
Rating: Summary: Must read and do Review: I joined Master Bond's Chi Kung class because of my chronic high blood pressure. I do my chi kung exercises every morning for an hour. Last year, my 3 visits to my internist, pressure was 138/76, 128/76 & 132/78. My pressure is great now; thanks to chi kung. There's a book "The First 16 Secrets of Chi" by Master Bond. This book has illustrations of Master Bond doing different exercises for different ailments. There's also the Green Diet Section. In the green diet they say to eat more yin and nuetral food to balance the yang foods. There's a list of yin, yang and neutral foods. I recommend this book to all. It's a must read book. Janet
Rating: Summary: attend classes & read The First 16 Secrets of Chi Review: To maximize the true value of Tai-Chi exercise, I have bought this book & attend Master Luk Chun Bond classes twice each week & do 30 minutes of exercise all other days of the week. Believe me, this Book & Tai-Chi exercise go handinhand..My results are phenominal & tell everyone I meet each day, to get this Book & attend his Classes at Kapiolani Park. The first class I attended in 2002 on that night I had 8 hours of sleep. The next class the following day, on that night I had 8 hours of sleep. That is the beginning of the good results I've had since. Everybody who has any interest in betterment of their health must consider Tai Chi exercise & read this Book for guidance. Rating: Summary: Highly Recommended Review: My wife and I have been taking Chi Kung from Master Bond for over eight years now and we are convinced that this was the best thing that ever happened to us in remaining healthy and improving the quality of our lives. Our daily Chi Kung workout of one hour has kept us in excellent condition so that my diabetes and other related problems have been kept under excellent control. My wife too who was catching a cold about once every three months until about eight years ago, now rarely ever catches one. Master Bond's Chi Kung, which follows that of the original founder Jen Sun Fung, is explained in detail in his book "The First 16 Secrets of Chi, Feng Shui for the Human Body" and in his video tape "The Secret of the Enchanting Chi". Both are excellent as guide and reference for the beginner and we still refer back to both from time to time for review and recheck of specific movements or questionable points. We have witnessed through our own experience what Chi Kung (breathing power therapy) can do and because it is a non-impact type of exercise which is suitable whether you are young or old, well or disabled, we strongly recommened it for everyone. Rating: Summary: Do your health the favor of buying this book. Review: I studied under Master Bond while on vacation in Oahu, and I highly recommend his book to anyone who wants to greatly improve their health and overall physical and mental well-being. Chi Gung is an ancient Chinese healing art that was kept secret and rarely taught until only recently. Master Bond is as authentic(he is a third generation practictioner and teacher) and skillful a Chi Gung master as one will find anywhere. Due to its simplicity, it is easy for one to become skeptical or incredulous of the ability of Chi Gung to produce health benefits, but please suspend disbelief- it really DOES work and will work for you, regardless of your age or physical condition. The motions themselves are simple to perform and do not strain or fatigue, and countless people have been healed and bettered in myriad ways through doing them. Please take my advice and get the book, practice, and watch with amazement as you begin to feel better than you ever have with only 30 minutes of practice per day. It's that simple.
Rating: Summary: Excellent Review: Master Bond's The First 16 Secrets of CHI is an excellent book. Not only does it show exercises, it also explains the foods that we eat. The highest rating is 5 stars, but in my heart, if you look up in the sky on a beautiful clear night and you see all the beautiful stars...that's the real rating of this book.
Rating: Summary: Healing with Master Bond Review: I joined Master Bond's Tai Chi/Chi Kung free class in Kapiolani Park near the inersection of Paki and Kalakaua in June of 2002. At the time, my right leg was weak due to a muscle problem, and I had lower back pain. The most noticeable problem I had stemmed from a shoulder injury I incurred a few years ago - which made my hand shake soo much people thought I had Parkinson's disease! Now, after Practicing the excersize in Master Bond's book for one hour every day, seven days a week, and following the green diet of chi, my right leg and back are well, and the tremendous shuddering in my hand has quietly succumbed to a tiny tremor.
