Rating: Summary: Great improvement in health Review: Since I began attending Master Bond's Chi Kung breathing exercise class 8 months ago, I noticed my blood pressure has lowered. The exercises have greatly improved my physical health and breathing power. I do these exercises daily and review The First 16 Secrets of Chi along with the video tape that I purchased. I also notice a calmness in attitude and anxiety in my daily life. You also don't need any expensive exercise equipment for the exercises.
Rating: Summary: I feel better Review: Chi Kung is very new to me. I have been to 4 lessons and am halfway through reading "The First 16 Secrets of CHI". The book is very interesting, well-written and helping me considerably to understand the meaning and method of the chi kung movements. I am an absolute "beginner" at this but I am enjoying myself - I feel better - I feel good after the exercises - and I will continue learning.

Rating: Summary: The 16 Secrets of Chi Review: I enjoyed reading The 16 Secrets of Chi. The first part of the book deals with the author's history and family, I found this most interesting. However, the most helpful part of the book was the diet. Sinus problems have plagued my life, particularly when I travel by air. Since I have started following the diet suggestions in The 16 Secrets of Chi, my sinus problems have cleared up. I am no longer supporting the anti-histamine drug industry. The exercises are simple and easy to do, especially for someone that is seventy. I have shared my copy of the book and finally purchased one to show friends and encouraged them to purchase their own copy.
Rating: Summary: Interesting approach to qigong Review: I read this book in some detail. I dont know Master Bond at all. Just did a critique and tried a number of the exercises. They are deceptively simple, but to my amazement they actually work !. I have tried all forms of qigong, but this one is the most satisfying. Because they are simple, it is easy to write them off as being useless because normal Tai Chi and Qigong forms are so complicated. Master Bond illustrates movements which even an old-timer can follow, that allow the mind to follow the movement and hence the path of Chi. I recommend that folk try this. Sometimes simple is beautiful, which is the way qigong was meant to be until it started to get packaged and merchandized.
Rating: Summary: A book for all Review: I am Ronald Li From Australia i am at the age of 15. This book provided me with a great detail no how to maintain health dureing everyday life, from a balanced diet and controling the bodies chi. The book had easy to understand description also with still shot pictures of each pose makeing it easy to do in the comfort of your own home,also with every step taken there is a description of how it is helping your body.The balance between Ying and Yang. I also found after doing the exercise it was easier for me to consentrate dureing school and for my study. After doing these exercises myself i find it helps not only the old but the young aswell. It has made me a healthier person in the mind and soal.
Rating: Summary: Definitely Five Stars Review: My name is Henry Tsang. I am 73 yrs. old. I do walk and jog a lot. I play Tai Chi, Lok Tong Kuan and I like swim and golf. I don't drink and smoke, but I eat out very often. It seems like I don't have any bad habits. Unfortunatley, I still had a lot of health problems like allergies, sinus, arthritis, rheumatism, sore back, knees and stomach ache. My doctor couldn't heal me until I met up with Master Bond and I got the book The First 16 Secrets of Chi. The green diet chapter of the book taught me choose the right foods. The Feng Shui for the human body chapter that help me understand more about the best direction to face during my chi exercise. I highly recommend this book because it helps my problems. Rating: Summary: Excellent Text on Health Maintenance Review: I believe that if I can make a strong commitment in following the guidelines in the book,' The 16 Secrets of Chi' I will improve my health and quality of life to a much greater extent. This is because after practicing Chi Kung for the past four months; thanks to the enthusiastic and tireless instruction of Master Bond, his senior students, Terry Hasegawa and other team members; I have been feeling more energetic without most of my old joint pains. This book contains all the information we need to enhance our health. The instruction is easy to follow because the illustration is clearly written and supplemented by photos. I am profoundly impressed by the philosophy explained in this book, that good health can only be achieved by practicing proper chi kung exercise, eating the right foods, and maintaining sound mental health. I especially enjoyed reading about the life story of Master Bond up to his arrival at Hawaii. At each practice session, I enjoy the last 5-minute vertical breathing and meditation exercise because through it we generate and store the essential chi or oxygen we need for the day. The philosophy expressed by the instructors help us to live a peaceful life. For exemple, Master Bond tells us to "be happy, no worry". Terry tells us to "empty all our negative thoughts and anger and fill our hearts with positive thoughts." As soon as I wake up everyday, I look forward to practicing Chi Kung in Kapiolani Park with a bunch of nice people. The book is an excellent source of reference for good health.
