Rating: Summary: Quite Impressed Review: Being a writer myself, I probably tend to look at the books I read with more of an analytical eye than the average reader. I was quite impressed with Chi Kung Master, Luk Chun Bond's The First 16 Secrets Of Chi, Feng Shui for the Human Body, so much so that I would give it a 5 star rating. It contains a wealth of information and even includes a diet chapter, yet it is neither boring nor technical. The personal information on Master Bond is quite fascinating and his instructions on how the exercises are done are exceptionally clear and well illustrated as they are shown in the sitting position as well as standing so that even handicapped individuals can learn the exercises. It is well organized and even indexes specific ailments, telling which exercises target them.Janet R. Rating: Summary: Rejuvenation! Review: I learned about Master Bond's Chi Kung Breathing Therapy Exercise classes in the Honolulu Star-Bulletin. I visited his classes held at the Kapiolani Park on a Sunday and Monday morning. I was impressed with the exercises conducted by Master Bond. I continued attending his classes. Chi Kung's concept of coordination of dan tien breathing and slow methodical movements bring a serene calmness within you. It makes me feel rejuvenated after doing the exercises. It is a "new beginning" for me as my health regimen. I am grateful to Master Bond and respect and honor his tireless dedication, reaching out to promote a healthy living for everyone. His book, "The First 16 Secrets of Chi", and his video offers invaluable information with simple and easy exercises. I have thoroughly enjoyed them. Come and join us at the Kapiolani Park at the corner of Kalakaua and Paki Avenue on Sundays and Mondays from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM. It's beautiful here at the park!

Rating: Summary: 16 Secrets means Good Health Review: I bought the book and was loaning it out to friends at our workplace and finally bought a second copy. Master Bond's description of his grandfather's, then father's background and training is very important to understanding the man. I bought it after reading several of the 5 star reviews. It has totally turned around my high blood pressure and is now helping my diabetes II. It has given me a new insight into helping my body as it ages. The ease with which anyone can understand his descriptions and the various exercises is amazing. His explanations of T'ai Chi being a combination of external Chi Kung (known as kung fu) and Internal Chi Kung (breathing power therapy) and Feng Shui (earth and sky chi life force)and the central nervous system of the human body are significant to fully understand why this is so easy and so positively influencing to the body, especially as we all get older.

After reading Master Bond’s book, from its beginnings in rural China thru the Tai Chi exercises to the final chapter on self-healing I was mesmerized. Learning to understand all of the elements of Tai Chi, took on a whole new exquisiteness, the rapture in just being and an awareness through physical practice. In ancient times there were great Taoist Sages; they taught that the task is complete, but the Sage doesn't seek credit or take pride in the task well done. Because the Sage is not attached to the success, the achievement lasts forever. The secrets of Chi are forever.

Rating: Summary: Chi kung breathing power therapy cured my back problems. Review: My back problems were relieved by chi kung. I tried doctors, acupuncture, and chiropractors without success. I couldn't bend, or sit down and do any bending or turning exercises. For the first three weeks of the class I was in pain. But now - it's just amazing! Chi kung breathing power therapy cured my back problems.
Rating: Summary: opens up the 14 channels to receive the energy Review: I've been coming to Chi Kung with Master Bond for about a year and a half. I don't get to practice much. I try to practice in the morning for 5 or 10 minutes before I go to work. Recently I decided to go on a 50-mile bike ride. I didn't get to practice much. I borrowed a bike and practiced for two hours. The ride is a tough ride - a grueling race. I didn't hurt after the race and I attribute that to my chi kung practice. I think that it opens up the 14 channels to receive the energy and let it flow through your body. Recently, I saw a TV show that added support to this theory of the 14 channels of energy, in which they use it in acupuncture. They operate on a dog and the dog just laid there - it wasn't in pain. And when they asked why does this occur, they said it had to do with the energy flowing through the body from the acupuncture, and it gave credence to the same thing that Master Bond teaches.
Rating: Summary: My lower back literally doesn't hurt anymore! Review: I started taking chi kung from Master Bond several years ago because I wanted an exercise that could take me through to the rest of my life. I've had a lot of additional benefits that I never expected, particularly in terms of my back problems. I've had back problems for many years - since I was in my teens. And what I have found is that chi kung really helps to alleviate these problems. It strengthens my back and it gives me the flexability that I need. My lower back literally doesn't hurt anymore!
Rating: Summary: helped me with my asthma. Review: We recently were able to join a class and experience chi kung's healing benefits. I'm also a student nurse and I think chi kung is a wonderful alternative healing therapy for many different illnesses. For myself it has helped me with my asthma.
