This book teaches you how to teach and will make any skilled or amature teacher learning from the book. Many good things in this book.

A wide range of information is covered including detailed strategies and techniques for creating lesson plans, teaching various age groups, retaining students, using training equipment, planning supplementary activities and managing classes on a daily basis. The book takes a straight forward approach to teaching, distilling complex theory into ready-to-use methods that are especially helpful for martial artists who have no prior teaching experience. Charts, checklists, questionnaires and sample plans are provided throughout the book to help the reader apply his or her knowledge directly to the classroom. This revised and expanded second edition of Teaching Martial Arts includes a bonus section titled "Launching a Martial Arts School" which details the steps to opening a successful martial arts school, including budgeting, finding a! good location, setting tuition rates, recruiting students, furnishing the school, setting-up a class schedule and more. Rating:  Summary: an essential reference Review: This is THE book on teaching martial arts. I bought the first edition when it came out many years ago and I love the additions that have been made in the second edition. If you are an instructor or hope to be some day, this the first book you should read.
