Rating: Summary: Entertaining & Informative Grand Conversation of MS Women!! Review: "Women Living with Multiple Sclerosis" by Judith Lynn Nichols and her Flutterbud Online Sisters is perfectly charming with oodles of wit and personality! I loved the upbeat tenor of the whole thing-- which nevertheless allows for the nitty-gritty "real-life" trials of life with MS. It surely is a book that people with MS will relate to and take comfort from. Highly Recommended! A charming, helpful book!
Rating: Summary: A must read for people with MS and people who love them Review: A must read for anyone has MS and even more so for the people who care about them. The frustrations, challenges, and successes these women share will be instantly recognizable to anyone with MS. For me personally it was wonderful to read about people with similar symptoms as mine and realize I'm not alone and/or crazy. (I was diagosed with MS in September 2000) It's so hard to explain what MS feels like--especially when the mind-mouth connection is chancy--but this book does an excellent job of it. My neurologist lent me her copy of the book--now I'm giving it to my husband and close friends.
Rating: Summary: Women Living with Multiple Sclerosis Review: A must read for anyone who has a relative or friend with MS. I laughed and I cried, but I definitely got a better understanding of the disease from those who struggle with MS on a daily basis. I know not everyone will relate to everything in the book, but it was well-written and very easy to read. After I finished reading it, I gave it to my daughter who has MS, hoping that she can read about others out there with MS and see how they are coping. I'd recommend it to anyone interested in the MonSter!
Rating: Summary: Think twice before ordering Review: Although the title specifically references women, the book offers a broader appeal. As a man, I was skeptical if I would find value in it. I did! I recommend this book to anyone and everyone with MS. Because it is written from the perspective of a support group, it doesn not get weighed down by medical jargon. It effectively expresses the emotional experience many of us, including men, go through when being diagnosed and living with this potentially disabiling condition.

Rating: Summary: A must read for anyone who has or knows someone who has MS Review: An excellent source for letting your family and friends knows what we MSer's go through. As many times as I've tried to explain to my husband and 15 year old daughter when it's like, they don't understand. The stories the women in this book told could have been told by me. It's very comforting to know that I am not alone.
Rating: Summary: Not what I expected.... Review: As a newly diagnosed MS patient, I was looking for something that would provide me with inspiration and motivation to prepare for a future with this illness. Other reviews led me to think this was the book, unfortunately for me it wasn't. It is an honest portrayal of the lives of these women living with Multiple Sclerosis, but without the fighting spirit I was searching for and need.
Rating: Summary: not for younger women Review: As a recently diagnosed 28-yr.old, this book depressed me more than informed or enlightened me. The women in the author's online circle are mostly 40-50 yrs. old, and while they have years of experiencing problems with MS, much of their info is outdated, as they were diagnosed, or not diagnosed with outdated methods, such as before the MRI came about, etc., whereas I got a diagnosis within a week or two after my first onset of an episode with the slew of testing at a wonderful clinic. Also, their experiences or episodes can be treated today, though they perhaps couldn't be treated 20 years ago. My problems are under control through the treatments available today, but reading these stories made it sound like I was in for an intolerable haul. I would not recommend this book to a younger (<30) MS patient because so much is outdated and actually lead me to a bout of depression.
Rating: Summary: I wanted to laugh and cry as I read this book. Review: As I read "Women Living With Multiple Sclerosis" it made me much more aware of the many different symptoms of Multiple Sclerosis. Judith Nichols does a good job of describing the many things that can and do happen to women living with Mulitple Sclerosis. She tries to look at the humorous side of things as well as the serious. Life is too short for being serious all the time. I thoroughly enjoyed her book and would read any others she might write on this subject, if she were to write a another on this same subject. It made me want to laugh and cry. I had a hard time putting it down to even eat! As Judith Nichols suggested her doctor to read the book, I suggested to my own neurologist that he read this book. It has a wealth of information that a male neurolisist might not even be aware of. He said he was very much interested in any material concerning women and Multiple Sclerosis. I highly recommend this book to anyone living with Multiple Sclerosis, even though it is not aimed at the male living with Multiple Sclerosis.
