Summary: There are many sides to being a sexual person.
Review: I have been working in the field of human sexuality for more than thirty years as an educator and clinician. I learned two essential points from working with men and their partners who were coping with sexual difficulties and erectile problems. First, ignorance, anxiety and fear about sex can be greatly overcome with knowledge of how the body functions sexually. Second, A man's sexual functioning reflects his relationship to both himself and his partner. It is essential to understand both the biological and psychological components of sexual functioning. THE SEXUAL MALE addresses these two areas in a comprehensive way. Do not forget,THE SEXUAL MALE is for men AND their partners to enjoy.

Summary: This is a great book that's easy to read.
Review: I learned a lot about how to be more supportive to my partner. There is also good information about things you can do to try and prevent problems before they happen.

Summary: This book answers every sexual question I ever had
Review: Probably because both an MD and a Psychologist wrote this, you get every possible answer you could want. They tell you that you don't just swallow a pill and hope for the best. There's a lot you need to know- both mentally and physically- and this book is written so you can understand it. I really recommend it.

Summary: Nothing beyond the basics
Review: Slowinski and Milsten have provided an invaluable resource for professionals and clients alike. Though written for the layperson, the completeness of this text cannot but be helpful for the treating professional as well, and can easily serve as a treatment "workbook" in therapy sessions. Recommended for all therapists as required reading and inclusion in one's professional library.

Summary: Nothing beyond the basics
Review: The book covers the basics of impotence: physcial and psychological causes. The authors seem to emphasize the psychological more so. Yet their therapeutic suggestions in this area are just about nonexistent.

Their discussion of Viagra is just poor; it is not connected well to their previous chapters. What physical and emotional problems can Viagra overcome and to what degree? Or how long do the effects of Viagra last; all that is stated is how long it takes to become effective. Something is needed beyond the minimal.

The book just does not go past the first level in anything. All in all, I would certainly hope that there is a better book out there for the lay person.

Summary: An excellent book, well written and researched.
Review: The reader found this book well-documented and it deals sympathetically with a sensitive area of men's health. This publication ought to be read by professionals involved in this field as well as interested members of the public.
