Review: Clear, concise and most important understandable. One of the few books dealing with this age group Betschart created an excellent resource for young families. I used this when researching my own book and highly recommend it.

Review: My young son was diagnosed at 15 months of age. I found this book to be a very valuable resource to me as I learned to care for him. It contains many things I needed to know that I couldn't find in other books. I highly recommend it to parents of young children with diabetes. I have turned to it again and again!

Summary: essential for parent of young child with diabetes!
Review: We got many books when our daughter, then 12 months old, was diagnosed with diabates. We found much of the information helpful, but sorely lacking when it came to the specific to the needs of such a young child. This book helps fill in the gaps. It applies the info we found elsewhere to the needs of a young child, and complements the information found in other books in an invaluable way. We'd reccomend getting other, more comprehensive books for the more general overview infomation though. (barbra davies center/"pink panther book" is a great one)
