Rating: Summary: Just what I needed ... Review: After my husband left, I read a stack of books on coping with divorce. Most either dealt with the actual process (legal, financial, etc.), or how to approach it as a family, how to help your children cope, and/or getting back into the dating game. Transformational Divorce really gives you the tools to help you reclaim your life! By following the step by step plan in this book I have been able to focus on my own healing, becoming a better, much happier me, and not only moving forward, but actually looking forward to whatever the future will bring! It's not just a narrative of "do this, don't do that", it is filled with exercises, encouragement, support, and guidance to help you focus on getting your life back rather than dwell on the sadness or anger of the past. Are you ready to move on to a better place? Are you tired of feeling overwelmed, angry, miserable, numb, or helpless? Read this book ... it will change your life!
Rating: Summary: Positive & Pro-active Review: As a therapist who specializes in working with people around divorce and someone who has read numerious books on divorce, I am particularly impressed by this book. Positive & realistic, written by a psychologist and a Divorce Coach, this book will help to empower you to move through your divorce without feeling like a victim. While it is aimed directly at women, "a step-by-step action plan for women", much of it is directly applicable to men as well. It is also a book that divorce therapists can access for ideas on journal exercises to use with their own clients. The divorce process often feels like a time of little control-a time when attorneys and judges and even well meaning friends and relatives are telling you what to do or making decisions for you. Transformational Divorce, while acknowledging that divorce is highly stressful, if not traumatic, also reminds the reader that this doesn't have to be a time of powerlessness. Indeed, it is a time to discover and claim your power. I highly recommend this book to women & men who are in the process of divorce. Highly readable, only 164 pages, it might just be the catalyst needed to move on to the next step in your life.

Rating: Summary: An Empowering Book! Review: This book transcends the divorce genre. Karen Kahn Wilson, in lucid, easy-to-read prose, speaks to all of us who want to learn from past relationships and move simultaneously towards increased independence and healthier connections with others. Although I have no plans to divorce, this book inspired--and empowered--me to take greater control of my life.
Rating: Summary: An Amazing Book!!!! Review: Transformational Divorce is truly a gift for those going through this devastating experience. Rather than concentrating on the usual get-out-and-meet-people advice so common in divorce books, Karen's book shows readers how to create a happy, productive life without falling into the "quick fix" solutions that fail to provide the depth needed for lasting change. Reading this book is like speaking to a compassionate friend who's been there and knows how to not only survive but thrive. A definite must-have for anyone going through the divorce process.
