Rating: Summary: Kids should read this and give it to their parents Review: Although the title makes it sound like it's only about babies, what Dr. Holinger says applies to even older kids. I think if more parents understood their kids the way he does his, it would be a lot easier to get along.
Rating: Summary: Kids should read this and give it to their parents Review: As a first time mother I was confused and perplexed about what my daughter wanted and needed from me. This book explained the signals that she was using to communicate with me and what an amazing difference it made. I'm now able to better read her signs and communicate with her even though she is not yet able to verbalize what she wants. This book is written for everyone with lots of great stories and examples that apply to situations that we as parents are running into everyday. I would recommend this book to every parent of young children...it's the only book I've read on parenting and the only one I feel that I need. I've also recommended this book to many of my friends who are also first-time mothers and it has helped them tremendously as well.

Rating: Summary: An Excellent Resource for Any Parent or Caregiver Review: Dr. Holinger has written a book that gives me a new way to view my child's actions. He gives me the ability to understand and react to my son in ways that keep him safe but allow him to explore this wonderful world he has entered into. The book is fun and interesting to read (even with all my highlighting!) and the vignettes make his points even easier to understand. This is a must have book.
Rating: Summary: This is that handbook that babies should come with! Review: This is a wonderful resource. My oldest son, Max, is nearly three, and I wish I'd read this book earlier!
I have been at wit's end lately with Max, and frustrated to the point where I've lost all my confidence as a parent. I felt like I spent all day saying "no", or crushing his spirit by yelling. There were more bad days than good days.
As I began reading Dr. Holinger's book, I was immediately able to start substituting better solutions for us. The problem is usually not with Max, it was with my reactions to Max's behavior. Every day is better when it ends with less yelling.
Thank you Dr. Holinger!
Rating: Summary: Fresh Insight In To Communicating With Babies Review: This new book was really helpful to my husband and me in learning to understand how babies view you and their world, and most of all how they communicate what they are feeling. It was really an eye-opener to see my baby's exact expressions captured and explained in this book! I most appreciated the suggestion to lay on the floor and play with your baby, appreciating her interest in her toys from her perspective. It is a great way to get some much-needed rest and play and bond with your baby at the same time!
