Rating: Summary: A Must Read for Adoptees Review: "Twenty Life Transforming Choices Adoptees Need to Make" should be read by anyone touched by adoption and should be "committed to heart" by each adoptee! This book shows the adoptee how to regain control of his life and to make choices that will bring the peace for which he has been searching. Sherrie Eldridge does an excellent job of presenting choices that will empower the adoptee to rise above "adoption loss." It is a no-nonsense approach that touches the adoptee right where he is and allows him to rise to new heights. As the mother of an adopted teen, this book allowed me to feel in a very small way what my daughter feels. And it allows the adoptee to realize that she is not alone---other adoptees are feeling the way she does. But it doesn't stop at validating present "feelings"---it give very direct comments on how the adoptee can "soar above" and take control of her life. I recommend this book to anyone touched by adoption.

Rating: Summary: A Must Read for Adoptees Review: As an adoptee, I never felt rejection from my adopted parents. However, after 60 years I was in contact with some birth siblings. There was total rejection on their part. In God's divine plan, Sherri's book came to me the very week I had been turned away by one sister. This book is an inspiration for all adoptees whether or not they are able to reunite with their birth families. It gives a great deal of insight into how to deal with the feelings of rejection and how to turn those thoughts into acceptance through the love of Christ. It really helped me through the season of tears and rejection and I was able to look beyond that to once again know that I am fearfully and wonderfully made and there is a definite purpose for me on this earth. Thank you Sherri for this wonderfully poignant expression of love.

Rating: Summary: An Adoptee Guide to Emotional Growth and Healing Review: As an adoptive parent of a teenage daughter who has struggled with adoption loss, this book is an answer to my prayers. It provides fundamentally sound advice on "...where do I go from here"...a guide to the emotional growth and healing of the adoptee. In addition, the resources listed provide an excellant reference guide for further information...a "how to guide" to begin the search for birth parents. On top of it all, Sherrie's testament to God's love is powerful...and so true. Faith in God is the true source of healing...as Sherrie so aptly states in this wonderful book. Another great job!
Rating: Summary: Sherrie does it again! Review: As an adult adoptee, I heartily recommend this book to anyone touched by adoption. Sherrie is a master at putting words to feelings- especially from an adoptee's perspective. This book will help many to understand why they react as they do, why they have problems in relationships, and why it is so hard for adoptees to give up control, even to God. You will be touched by the openness of the stories shared in the book, by Sherrie and by the adoptees who contributed. This is not a book about blaming adoption for all our problems, but instead is a book that will lead to hope and healing.
Rating: Summary: A MUST Read !! Review: As the father of three sibling adoptees, I am always seeking information to understand the struggles my children face, and to help them overcome those hurdles. In my opinion, this book by Sherrie Eldridge is simply the ** #1 MUST READ** on the topic of adoption. It is for anyone who wants to understand the many issues associated with adoption, and rather than being a "pity parade" tome, specifically disclaims that as a positive solution and offers helpful "move forward" techniques for each issue tackled. I particularly recommend it for adoptees who are have difficulty in facing issues that arise throughlut ones life as a result of adoption.
Rating: Summary: A LIGHT FOR ADOPTEES!!! Review: Hi Sherrie, I am currently reading your book, "Twenty Life-Transforming Choices" and it is changing my life! I am an adoptee in Albuquerque, NM, am almost 43 years old and am just discovering that much of my life's struggles have been due to my loss at birth. Thank you! Also, thank you for the Christian aspect of this in your book. There is so much psychology surrounding this issue, it is sometimes difficult to know how God feels about it all.

Rating: Summary: A Must Read Review: I am an adoption professional who has worked in the field for thirty years. If I had the addresses of the hundreds of children (most now adults) I have placed I would write them and tell them to get this book! I now work with adoptive families at the Attachment and Bonding Center of Ohio working with children who have issues re attachment and adoption and feel this book will help many of them as well. This book is also a must read for professionals who work with adopted children or adults. It compassionately covers adoption issues and makes gentle suggestions about how to work on those issues. I just bought five copies to give people and feel it speaks to the heart. Sherrie, Thank you for writing it. Regina Kupecky
