Rating: Summary: This book is a life saver for any new parent! Review: I loved this book! It gave me practical advice and a lot more confidence that I could take care of my baby (something every new mother needs). I thought the section on "baby wearing" was really informative and I went out and bought a Snuggli so I can wear my baby no matter what I'm doing!
Rating: Summary: A must read for any new parent! Review: I read a lot of books before my son was born, and I thought this was one of the best! It was one of the only books which talked about how my newborn was experiencing his new world, and helped me prepare to meet his emotional, as well as physical, needs. I give this book to every new mom I know!
Rating: Summary: A must-read for any new parent! Review: I read this book 2 years ago, and thought it was one of the most helpful baby books I read. It helped prepare me to meet, not only my baby's physical needs, but his emotional needs as well. I give this book to every new mom I know!
Rating: Summary: Helps develop realistic expectations of life with a baby Review: This is a wonderful book - warm, insightful, poignant. Having realistic expectations of life with a baby can help one cope. This book creates healthy expectations. Short chapters can be read in any order.
Rating: Summary: Good info. in an easy-to-read format Review: This is book is great for new moms who need information and encouragement but have little time to obtain it! Martha Sears covers many of the ups and downs of having a new baby with the insight, support and compassion that only another mother could. This book is very uplifting to new mothers who are just beginning to find out how difficult a job parenting can be. Martha illustrates, through her own personal experiences as a mother of eight, how exhausting yet fulfilling and amazing motherhood can and should be. After reading this book, you will remember how lucky you are to be a mom!

Rating: Summary: Great reference for any mother Review: This is probably my favorite baby care book. Because of its short, concise chapters it is good for people who don't have hours on end to read. The format also makes it easy to look up specific topics. And since it was written by a mother, the book has a more personal feel to it than many child care books. Information presented comes across as good advice rather than a how-to book. I can testify from personal experience that the ideas really work and help make a more confident mother and happy baby.
