Summary: BUY THIS BOOK! Your baby will thank you!
Review: So That's What They're For! provided all the right information and eased my fears. I have given it to every new mom I know, and now they are successful nursing mothers too. As a professional educator, I appreciate Ms. Tamaro's use of stories and humor to illustrate often-difficult points. She deserves an A+!

Summary: The perfect anatomy lesson!
Review: After giving birth to my first child and a premie at that, breastfeeding was crucial to me and obviously to my child. This book took away the fear and concern I had and helped me tremendously both physically and psychologically. The tone is lighthearted enough to make it easy reading while the information is indispensable and clearly well researched. I did not feel "preached" to but rather, educated. It is a must read to inform and de-mystify the art of breastfeeding. Most highly recommended and advised!

Summary: THIS BOOK IS IMPORTANT
Review: I cannot tell everyone out there how important this book is, both as an educational tool and for its entertainment value. The information is invaluable, especially if you don't have anyone to help provide this kind of personal insight into breast feeding. This is a wonderful book that you will keep on your shelf well after your kids have stopped breast-feeding. All I can say is thank you to Ms. Tamaro for writing the book.

Summary: EXCELLENT! FUNNY, SAVED MY BABY FROM FORMULA
Review: I love this book. It's SO helpful, and so down-to-earth, especially in those first few post-partum days, when we were BOTH learning. Everything is there, and it's a pleasure to read. I suspect the (only) person below who didn't agree fed her baby artificial baby milk and feels guilty and angry. Even La Leche League endorses this book! Great gift, too.

Summary: This book is terrible and not at all helpful!
Review: This book is only good if you want a laugh. It offers no practictal advice, but rather is a book of nonsence.

If it were possible to give books here zero stars, this would be the book I would give zero stars to.

Summary: Oh, how realistic!
Review: What a wonderful book. This book convinced me that I needed to do everything in my power to breastfeed my child! I've referenced it over and over again through out my daughter's first year. I don't think I could have made it without this book! I recommend it to ALL of my pregnant friends!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: The only book you'll need (put it in your over night bag! )
Review: This is the only book you'll need for the know how to the basics of breastfeeding. A lite hearted view on breastfeeding that will make you laugh. Be sure to pack this book for your hospital stay... its a lifesaver.

Summary: A Great Resource
Review: I was given this book by a friend and used it with great results. I breastfed my daughter for 8 months. I also give a copy to all my expecting friends.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Excellent! I laughed out loud, and then I breastfed.
Review: The information is solid, the author is funny, the anecdotes are worth re-telling. I don't agree that it could've been better organized. I also think, if anything, the reader who mentioned the "reference" may have meant the "index." The index is sufficient. This is BY FAR my favorite parenting book. Has she written more books? I'd buy 'em!

Summary: Greeat reading and info, poor reference
Review: I really enjoyed this - very helpful and an easy read. The information could have been organized better - sometimes I got lost in where we were in the process. Also, it was difficult to go back and find things I'd read. But it was the best book I got on breastfeeding and it will be one of my staples as a shower gift from now on!
