Summary: Eastern Philosophy Comes To The West With Great Results
Review: Tired of boring health books that bog you down with a lot of technical, impractical mumbo-jumbo? Looking for that one book that addresses the issues of diet, exercise and overall health? Well this is the book! Not only does it delve into the intricacies of these subjects, it relates the Tao ideologies connected with fasting, proper breathing, sexual techniques, meditation and much more. This 400-page reading is packed with valuable information and offers something advantageous for all, no matter the age or gender. Reid brilliantly conveys the philosophical approach of Eastern practices in a manner that any westerner can identify with. Although it is composed in a "text book" format, the writing is never boring and the data is so enlightening and mentally stimulating, it almost prompts one to instantly attempt to apply some of the methodology written within. Personally, I've applied several of the techniques Reid writes about, and found each to be valid and beneficial. I highly recommend you add this to your library, and even suggest you display it on your coffee table, as an excellent conversation book.

Summary: Tao-The Way of Nature
Review: Westerners backing into eastern philosophy will find Daniel Reid at the apex.I read this book in april 1993 after having stumbled onto his earlier "Chinese Herbal Medicine",Shambhala 1987.Since that time I have collected and thoroughly studied each of his books. To express how I feel about Mr. Reid's work you need only know that each of my children has received their copies of this work as a gift from me with parental guidance to "read and listen to the teachings of old, as presented through the eyes of a present day traveler" Thank you Daniel Reid for conveying a light on Chinese antiquity and ideas,I for one am appreciative.

Summary: Remarkable Book
Review: Whether you are a beginner on the path, or a more advanced person looking for a reminder, this book will become a lifelong friend. A historical and philosophical understanding of the Tao, life altering dietary suggestions, and a plethora of immortalist techniques. Breathing exercises, Sexual Yoga, Fasting and the ills of the modern diet---loaded with outstanding information! Any book that serves Mind, Body and Spirit should be lauded, and this book delivers. Keep your mind open when reading this, and don't be alarmed by the Enemas!!! This book has helped my health, my sex life and call me in 300 years to find out about the longevity part. Good companions are Fit for Life (which deals with the proper food combination issue) and Leonard Orr's Breaking the Death Habit. And for the bold mental astronauts, throw in a little Robert Anton Wilson's Cosmic Trigger series to feed your head.
