Rating: Summary: Easy to Read Review: This book answered so many of my questions. It is very easy to read and explains topics in good detail. I would highly recommend this book before starting a family.
Rating: Summary: I bought this book and promptly chucked it! Review: This book gives some good basic information on conception, but frankly Taking Charge of Your Fertility by Toni Weschler was far more informative and useful. If you know the basics, this is not the book for you. If you don't know the basics, there are much better, more comprehensive books out there that will be of more assistance to you. If you have any fertility issues, this book is definitely NOT for you.
Rating: Summary: Not worth it Review: This book presents a basic knowledge of fertility, and nothing you can't learn on the internet or probably already know. Most of it is common sense. Some of the advice is inapplicable or not always correct - for example it says that OPK's are 95% reliable, when I have yet to get a true positive. It says that Cervical Fluid is a poor indicator of upcoming ovulation, however many women find it is incredibly reliable. I got very little out of this book. Recommend Taking Charge of Your Fertility instead.
Rating: Summary: the fastest way to get discouraged, naturally Review: This book was the first I purchased on the subject of fertility, and while it did provide me with information, it also discouraged my hopes of getting pregnant. I came away from the book with the idea that both aspiring parents must be in superb physical condition in order to become pregnant; and if the woman is over 35 the chances are between slim and none. After reading other books and talking to other over-35 women (none of whom were in 'peak' condition) I got a more encouraging view of the situation. Armed with a different perspective I did spend some time rereading sections of Dr. Williams' book and found it less disheatening. This book might be best for someone who has already done some research on fertilty; I would not recommend it as the first read on the subject.
Rating: Summary: Informative, research-based book Review: This is by far the best book on conception and fertility. The author gathers the latest scientific research and combines it with a common-sense approach. Just one example: many other books spend a chapter on how to choose the sex of your baby, but only this one cites the most relevant fact: none of the "at-home" methods work, as proven by an article in a leading medical journal. Given the emphasis on research, the advice here is the most likely to lead to a healthy conception. I keep coming back to the helpful advice and useful graphs on how fertility is affected by factors such as age and weight. This is the book I have recommended to friends who are thinking about getting pregnant.
Rating: Summary: Informative, research-based book Review: We have been trying to conceive for 4 months, and though not frantic quite yet, this book certainly helped make sense out of my body! It has great tips on excercise, eating habits, weight gain and loss, coming off of birth control, and most important, it also addresses things the future father can do to help, which I found lacking in other books. I loved it, hope it's tips help!

Rating: Summary: Nice alternitive to taking temps Review: What I really enjoyed about this book was the format. Information was separated into nice chapters, research was reviewed, and a quick summary of take home points at the end of each chapter. I still love the other books about watching your body for signs of fertility, but this is great for those who cycles don't follow the norm.
Rating: Summary: The Fastest Way To Get Pregnant Naturally Review: When we decided it was time to get pregnant, I wanted to understand what was happening to my body - so I went book hunting. I was impressed that he wrote this book for his wife - an average, healthy woman who just wanted to understand what she needed to do to prepare for a healthy pregnancy. I also appreciated that he was writing for women who did not have any known fertility issues. Most books I looked at were designed for couples have trouble conceiving. This booked reviewed the basic biology, concerns about contraception, exercise, nutrition, common misconceptions and possible fertility concern. I found the chapter on how to monitor my fertility to the most helpful! I've loaned it to two friends who also agree it's the best book on conceiving they have seen.
