Rating: Summary: Not exactly what I was looking for Review: As an extrememly unorganized person, I was looking for a book that would map out exactly what to do one step at a time. I get overwhelmed very easily. The day after ordering this book, my friend sent me a website link about organization, and I found that it was exactly what I was looking for. It talked about slowly getting to the organizing point that I want to be at and how to get there, baby steps. The website is flylady.net, and I found out that the lady who does this website has a book here on Amazon as well, called Sink Reflections. After being on her website, I wish I had bought that book instead, which I still plan to. From the website alone, my house has never looked better, it's still not even close to perfection, but at least now I feel it is somewhat presentable if someone were to show up at my door. Though Totally Organized may be helpful to many people, I find that I need more direction, and more mapped out steps. I would recommend you check out flylady.net before you make a decision.
Rating: Summary: Incredible Help! Review: Books on this subject seem to vary from the highly philosophical and motivational (in sort of an empty way) to those that are so detailed they're difficult to adapt to individual needs. I found this one to have just the right balance for my taste. I already knew WHY I wanted to embark on this project; I didn't want to pick up a book and read 100 pages about why I should pick up the book. On the other hand, I had a few little disconnected tricks stashed here and there but they weren't doing me much good without having my life organized from the ground up. I needed ideas for more of a general system to implement, a way to pull it all together, and this book had it. The suggestions actually make sense --don't take that for granted! I have dog-eared more corners of this book than practically any book I own because there are so many useful ideas to reference. If you truly are disorganized enough to need this book, then you need to OWN this book. Don't borrow it from a friend or the library, because you need to be able to keep coming back to it or you'll eventually abandon all the good intentions you have right now.
Rating: Summary: Very practical and full of USABLE information -imagine that! Rating: Summary: Good but some stuff is very common sense. Review: I am already an organized person but am always looking for ways to improve and this book was slightly helpful, but many things seem to me to be common sense.
Rating: Summary: A great find Review: I have read this book at least 3 times. In fact, I bought a second copy because my sister is constantly borrowing mine. It is a great book. Practical and motivating with a lot of great tips. This book is a must for today's busy woman
Rating: Summary: Very Practical Review: I keep my copy by my bed. It's got great practical solutions and drawings to demonstrate. I give this book as gifts to those of my friends who won't be offended by the "self-help" implications of receiving it! I've implemented lots of the ideas.
Rating: Summary: Incredible Help! Review: I still can't believe how much this book has changed my life. I'm famous as a totally disorganized person who can rarely find what I need, who forgets about events I wanted to go to, and a packrat (a terrible addiction). I've read quite a few other organizing books and been to an expensive seminar on organizing papers. None of them really helped, I just couldn't seem to integrate any of their suggestions. But using this book, in very short time I had made some significant improvements in all these areas, and a few others to boot. A great decrease in stress and confusion! I check it out of the library & keep it as long as they'll let me renew it (6 weeks). Then I take it back, let them check it in & put it on the cart to be reshelved, go and get it, & check it out again. If I ever get enough money, I'm definately going to buy this book,
Rating: Summary: Most Helpful Book I've Read........ Review: next to Flylady's book and her website. This book gives real practical advice, page after page, and I've read a lot of organizing books! It is extremely helpful for mothers with children. If I were to only have one organizing book, this would definitely be it. I highly recommend it.
Rating: Summary: Totally Organized! Review: This is by far the best book on household management that I have ever read! Some of Bonnie McCullough's ideas would take more time than I have or choose to spend cleaning, but she also offers a number of very practical, time-saving tips that I have implemented into my own life.
