Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: FANTASTIC Review: Although I miscarried, this book helped me during those first 4 months. It also gave me hope to try again. This is a great book, for anyone who is thinking of becoming a mother. It's a keeper!!
Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: 5 stars for pictures, 3 stars for text Review: I have always found DK travel guides to be the best because they cover so much information with appropriate illustrations. The illustrations and organization of this book are certainly like no other, but the tone of the text was handled with no more sensitivity than the travel guides. Although I prefer the reassuring tone in "What to expect...", this book complements it well with its broad scope.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: One of my favorite pregnancy books Review: I'm a pregnancy book junkie. I admit it! But this book is one of my favorites. It's worth purchasing for the illustrations alone. The book is probably one of the most beautifully designed pregnancy books on the market today.I highly recommended this book in my own book, The Unofficial Guide to Having A Baby, and I have given copies of Miriam Stoppard's book to many friends and relatives over the years. (Yes, I gave them a copy of my own book, too. That's the price they have to pay for knowing an author! LOL) :-)
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: A beautifully illustrated book Review: This book is gorgeous--the ultimate coffee table book for pregnancy. The art department should take a bow!
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: "What to expect when you're expe....Blah, Blah, Blah" Review: Way to go Miriam! I'm so tired of the "What to expect..." books that I could Yak! This book put those others to shame. I was so impressed with the information provided. It was well organized and tastefully illustrated, and for a visual learner that gets high marks from me. I also felt that it touched base on sensitive subjects that should be addressed (The "sample" story subjects.) I had my first baby in January and this book put my nerves at ease.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: You must read this! Review: I have read several books on preconception (borrowed). This was the one. It is easy to read and understand and it answered all of my questions and then some. I will be sure to pass this book along when I no longer need it!
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: A very comprehensive, but easy and fun to read format Review: This book was the best of the ones I rec'd when I first became pregnant. It gives an overview by month as to what is happening with the baby, and then another as to what is happening to the mother. It's a constant reference for my husband and I and the photography was excellent.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Outstanding! Review: I used it for both of my pregnancys. I now am sending one to my best friend. I am a nurse and boy did it cover a lot of things I didn't know about. The best book on pregnacy I've read.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Wonderful! Review: This was an excellent book. It covers all aspects of pregnancy-- the good and potentially bad-- in a tone that is informative, yet not alarming. The chapters on preparing for baby (buying clothes and furniture, basic information on holding and feeding, etc.) is also helpful and nice because you get to see what you are looking forward to. And, just to give a little credit to Amazon.com, I was pleasantly surprised to see that the price on this book is EXCELLENT, considering that it is a very big, hardcover book with every single page beautiful, glossy, and full of color photographs, sonogram pictures, and more.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: The only book you need until your baby is born. Review: This book gets you through every ache, pain, doubt and unknown, and always leaves you feeling excited about what's happening. It was the only guide I had when expecting my first baby while living in rural Brazil- no baby classes there!- with a doctor of dubious training (not to mention the language problems)I clung to it throughout my pregnancy, and it never failed me. Buy it early, read it often and have a wonderful time! (then, buy the Mothers Almanac by Marguerite Kelly, which is the only book you need for after the baby comes!)
