Summary: Great, practical info. for pregnancy and first year of twins
Review: I found myself reading and rereading this book because it takes you month by month through everything - what is happening during each month of pregnancy and the twins after they're born. I refer to this book and the On Becoming Baby Wise book most of the time.

Summary: This is a book that I need
Review: I found this in a bookstore ... where it was the only book on twins anywhere in my hometown. It's a fascinating read and helps ease the jitters in this new mom-to-be!! It's very helpful and with week-by-week guides to your symptoms as you go through pregnancy. For example, did you know that when you're carrying twins, the hormones are raging twice as hard than in mothers carrying just one baby ... and that morning sickness may continue throughout the whole pregnancy.

I am so glad that I found this book ~~ it's one I keep in the bathroom whenever I need a tibit of advice or encouragement!

Summary: Fraternal Twin focused
Review: I have been somewhat happy with this book; however, it really focuses on Fraternal Twins as opposed to Identical Twins. Hoping the author will read this before they offer an update- one of the most important topics for identical twin mothers to be is on Twin to twin transfusion. Although two pages are noted in the information, only one is accurate and it is just a listing of a place that offers information/assistance for this syndrome. The first chapter also begins by saying there are four identifiers of identical twins and then never continues to out line or discuss these four things. I have found some info good, but these two other issues, make me wonder what else is missing. I am only 4 months into my pregnancy so I am sure I will find something else within this book that lacks complete information. Sorry to give a bad review- that wasn't my hope when I made the purchase. Hope this helps others!

Summary: Helpful book to mothers expecting twins
Review: I really enjoy this book. To me it is like the twins version of "What to expect when you are expecting". I really enjoy seeing the illustrations of what my twins look like now. i recommend this book.

Summary: Absolutely Wonderful Book
Review: I really liked this book the best of all the books I purchased on having twins. It addresses the problems and concerns that come with expecting twins but does not focus entirely on them. This was especially nice for me since I had a problem free pregnancy and wanted a positive view. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who receives the wonderful news of a multiple pregnancy.

Summary: Not enough detail
Review: I received this book as a gift, and have also read two other twins books in preparation for our pending arrivals. This book had the least useful information, several typographical errors and I found at least one outright factual error (of a pharmaceutical nature). My biggest complaint with this book is that the authors present topics prospective parents will have to "make a decision about" but fail to present pro and con arguments to assist the reader in making any such informed decision; the reader must pursue this information "somewhere". There are not even any helpful starting points presented. Frankly, if you are expecting multiples, who has the time? (That's why we read the book)! This aspect was very frustrating to us. If you just want the barest outline of what you will need to consider at every stage of the twin pregnancy process, and don't mind doing your own legwork to research the answers, buy the book; however, we believe that money spent on such a book should have provided at least some of this information! The one saving grace were the "panel discussions" with actual parents of multiples, although many of the questions were repetetive, and others involved pregnancy in general, rather than dealing specifically with twins & multiples issues, which after all, IS the name of the book!

Summary: i wish i had this when my twins were born
Review: I recommend this book, along with co-author Ganon's Raising Twins for when your kids are older- I have 11 year old boy and girl twins. I've given this book to my niece who is pregnant with twins and she and her husband love it. The interviews with parents of twins are great and the book has such an upbeat wonderful approach. Lots of information organized in two sections- one for pregnancy and one for the first year with your babies. You will use this book all the time.

Summary: Finally a Book for Twin Pregnancy!!!
Review: I thought this book was the best to show you what to expect during your twin pregnancy. It breaks it down week by week just like the What To Expect When You're Expecting Book.It shows you your changes along with the babies changes every week.Another part that was helpful was the part about the NICU unit.Although nothing can prepare you fully for having your children in a NICU unit, reading about the possibility of it and what they may need was a help.I also felt it informed you of plenty without getting you overly concerned of things that can happen in a high risk pregnancy. For after they were born I didn't use this book much, but I used one called Double Duty. That one seemed to be more informative on development after you bring them home and through school age.

Summary: Too General - Not Insightful Regarding Twin Development
Review: I was extremely disappointed in this book and am not sure why so many people gave it such high praise. If you haven't read any other books about pregnancy, birth, or infants I suppose this book provides some good general background. However, I was looking for more in-depth discussions of how twins specifically develop during pregnancy and in their first year, how they relate to each other, and how I can better meet their needs and help them to thrive. Instead I found a lot of general comments such as, "...you will need to decide whether or not you want to put your twins in two cribs, or co-sleep them in one." Obviously I will have to make this decision, but the book offers absolutely no perspective on how to decide, the benefits of each arrangement, etc. Again this book provides decent general perspective on babies, but it simply takes the basic information one finds in other, more thorough, books and replaces the word "baby" with the plural "babies" - offering little or no insight into the deeper challenges and decisions involved in parenting twins. In addition, I found the round table discussions somewhat difficult to follow and not terribly helpful. I do not recommend this book.

Summary: Provides an excellent foundation of information
Review: I would recommend this book to everyone expecting twins. It is the book my husband and I consistently refer to when we have general questions about our boy/girl twins; and this book was my main reference guide during my pregnancy. It is comprehensive, includes vital information about fetal development according to gestational week, information on maternal progress, information about labor and delivery, honest perspectives from parents of twins, and what to expect during the twins' first year in addition to other information. The book is written objectively with content highly relevant to the twin experience, and gives you a good foundation for being educated about your twin pregnancy, birth experience, and life as a new parent of twins.
