Rating: Summary: This definitely dispels the notion that ADD is 'made up'! Review: As an adult with adult-diagnosed ADD, I can definitely say that help is hard to find. This wonderful book, with it's quirky cartoons and "chunked down" style, makes coping and living with ADD much, much easier. It also makes it far easier to explain the reality of it to those who may not understand the all-consuming impact this has on daily life. Thank heaven for Kate and Peggy!
Rating: Summary: This book changed my life... Review: On a recommendation, I read You Mean I'm not Lazy, Stupid or Crazy! . What I saw was my life in front of me. This book gave me the knowledge and tools to help make changes in my life with issues that I had struggled with and had no answers to. This book gave me answers. I highly recommend this book
Rating: Summary: practical self-help advice Review: This is an excellent beginner's self-help book for anyone who thinks they may have ADD, especially those with multiple family memebers with ADD. It contains a wealth of down-to-earth practical strategies, and clear straightforward information about the disorder.
Rating: Summary: A wonderful way to understand and utilize A-D-D Review: It was refreshing to read something so clearly written about a subject that is so misperceived and the audio cassette was much the same way. I found it useful and informative and will rely on it as a resource for years to come. I highly recommend it to anyone with A-D-D or who wants to better support someone they know who has it.

Rating: Summary: Terrific, Informative, Easy to Read! Review: You Mean I'm Not Lazy, Stupid or Crazy is as good as its title. It is one of the first books I recommend to my clients who come for diagnosis of ADD and counseling to learn coping strategies to improve their lives. It is easy to read, has reliable information and good suggestions. Thanks Kate and Peggy for writing it!
Rating: Summary: very helpful in identifying ADD behaviors Review: This book is based on the medical model for ADD; a disorder that is helped by medication and other treatments. Many critizing this book do so because they prefer to believe ADD is just a difference in being, not a disorder. Scientific research is proving them wrong. This was the first book I read after learning I had ADD, seven years ago. Page after page was a revelation. I learned how having undiagnosed ADD affected so many parts of my life. It gave me hope that, with proper treatment, I could learn to function much better. I liked the personal tone of the book and the numerous examples.
Rating: Summary: Incredibly useful and practical overview w/great ideas! Review: Kate and Peggy have written one of the most comprehensive, authoritative, and insightful books on ADHD in the marketplace. In particular, I love the insights unique to this book for women and people in the workplace, as well as their dispassionate overview of the topic. The book is clear-eyed, compassionate, and full of "you can do this!" types of suggestions and ideas. Highly recommended! (And I'm embarrassed that an earlier reviewer here negatively compared this book with one I wrote on the same topic: I feel that these books complement each other, rather than competing. Both have content of value, even though each takes a slightly different tact with regard to ADHD. In my humble opinion, "Lazy, Crazy" is one of the best of the ADD books in the market, and if anybody reads my books they should *also* buy this book right now to get "the whole story.")
Rating: Summary: Fantastically helpful. Review: There are no other books out there that are so helpful in dealing with ADD. I felt like the authors were talking about me personally. The book helped me make big changes and feel better about myself.
Rating: Summary: A true classic primer on ADD (Attention Deficit Disorder) Review: This book exemplifies what the public and the medical community needs to know to clear up the grave misconceptions of ADD as a problem only encountered in childhood. As a medical student, I found the book incredibly informative, easy to read, and of incredible depth. Not only will the public benefit from reading this book, doctors themselves will likely gain a better understanding of the true nature of the ADD process. Unfortunately, ADD is largely overlooked in society, and surprisingly so within the medical community itself. This well written, easy-to-read book will improve the lives of countless people by preventing misdiagnoses and by providing potential ADD patients with information and a plan of action. Frankly, this true classic primer on ADD belongs on every physician's bookshelf, not to mention every person who may be touched by ADD.
