Summary: A tough read
Review: This book is way too technical for the lay person. As a physical therapist I have found a majority of my patients commenting on how hard it is to understand. The book has good intentions however it is not an easy read.

Summary: Get the Updated Book instead.
Review: This book totally saved my life. I picked it up on the way to a Christmas craft fair I was working...and during the afternoon I did a few of the exercizes along with some in Treat Your Own Neck. The relief was instant. I couldn't believe it! The only thing about these books is that Robin McKenzie has updated his method and combined both books into "7-Steps to a Pain Free Life: How to Rapidly Relieve Back and Neck Pain" by Craig Kubey and Robin McKenzie. So...get the updated version instead!

Summary: I can walk again because of this book
Review: This book was recommended to me by both my doctor and my physical therapist, and I owe my ability to walk to it. Must reading for anyone who has lower back problems, in my opinion - not a wasted word in it. Best used in conjuction with a physical therapist to start in the case of severe injury.

Summary: Back To The Future
Review: This is one of the best little booklets to help with the back. It covers positioning, exercises, and emergency situations. Our hospital recommends this book to all of our patients, especially our occupational health patients. All the other reviewers are correct. This book provide a lot of useful information and a lot of items to consider to prevent back pain.

Summary: What is this total quack stuff?
Review: This was a great book from a patients perspective of the lower back mechanics in an acute pain phase. Despite the ? review above from one Brownyn Scot, who reviews the book with the header 'a total quack' I would have to remark that the uneducated, myself included, have too much free space on the Internet to say supposedly learned things of which they know not, except definately crock pots :) The book helped. Enough said.

Summary: Simple and effective self-help guidelines for back pain.
Review: We first came across this booklet in the early 80's when New Zealand Physiotherapist, Robin McKenzie, was introducing his diagnosis and treatment system to physical therapists in the United States. Since then his techniques have become widely accepted and are now taught in many physical therapy schools. This book was originally published in 1980 and is now in its 7th edition with over a million copies sold. Topics include education, posture awareness, exercises, prevention and a "Panic Page". This easy to follow, illustrated manual helps people manage their own back pain.
