Rating: Summary: More Misandry Review: Another feminazi profiting from the increasing popularity of male bashing; and ironically promoting domestic violence at the same time. Marvelous.
Rating: Summary: An awesome book for young feminists and anyone anywhere Review: This is an awesome book about freedom, starting with women, but it applys to all people of all genders, all races, etc. Muscio has a refreshing writing style and constanly interjects witty comments and interesting catchy phrases. A very empowering book to make you love yourself, even if you had not realized that you didn't. I will be giving several copies for the holidays this year, starting with my mom.
Rating: Summary: a book to make you think Review: This is truly the most thought provoking book that I have ever read. I appreciated the way that Ms Muscio talked about how the choices that we make affect others. Before this, I never gave much thought to the type of business that I supported. The chapter on movies and the often violent content toward women really was a wake up call to me. Read this book with an open mind and an open heart.
Rating: Summary: Women Rock! Review: I loved this book, simply because Inga reminded me why we need to stick together and love each other. I have expereinced so much viciousness from women in my life and I think it stinks! Her writing was so personal, I felt like she was right there reading to me. She just reached right into my heart and opened it up to some things I didn't think of before. She supported some of my current work with women - no matter how much they resist love them anyway. We need to be kinder to each other in such a world like this today. There were a few things that I didn't agree with or didn't like - but that is unique to Inga and I'm sure there are others that needed to hear that message. I've shared this book with several of my friends and continue to pass it around - everyone loves it!! By the time it gets back to me - I will be reading it again for sure :)
Rating: Summary: Some neat ideas Review: While she does make some very good arguments and points out some very glaring blemishes in the gender equality gap, Muscio's book is poorly written for the most part. Her ability to go off on tangents and to meld so much of her own personal life into this work leaves her original point muddled and at times hard to discern. Also, her obvious disdain towards the not-so-fairer sex is a little much at times. I wouldnt suggest buying this book, but borrow it from a friend or library and take some notes, this author does have a wise thing or two to say. I especially liked her comparison of Aristotle to Solanas; it really does make you think.
Rating: Summary: Buy This Book Review: Buy this book. Read this book. Then go buy copies for all your friends. If the title puts you off, then buy TWO copies and give one to your mom. You may not agree with everything that Muscio has to say, but she will MAKE YOU THINK. And how many books for $... can you say that about? Everyone should read this book - men and women. And if a man looks at it and thinks "oh, I don't want to go reading that feminist thing" then he really needs to think about WHY NOT.
Rating: Summary: Amazing Review: Inga Muscio deals in _Cunt_ with all kinds of issues relating to women in today's society, and she does so amazingly. Everyone needs to read this book! I'd personally recommend the updated 2nd edition--it has all the greatness of the first edition, and then MORE of it (like Inga's apology to the transgendered folk she fears she may have inadvertently offended in the first edition, a new introduction by Derrick Jensen, and a much more thorough resource guide)! What more could you want?
Rating: Summary: my Bible Review: there is a small group of woman in ohio that think of this book as our bible...i wish every woman would read this book...
Rating: Summary: my bible Review: This happens to be the best book I have ever read. I have bought the book about 15 times because I meet women and let them borrow it, and it then becomes their own favorite, so now I have to buy it yet again. I am giving it as a gift to every woman I know. READ THIS BOOK!! NOW!!
Rating: Summary: learning who you are Review: this book definetly taught me alot about who i am and what i've been through. It gets you so motivated to learn more about other women and organizations for women. The section on rape was amazing, i had never heard of mia zapata before. I have used this book for quotes in many school essay's. It has pretty much become my bible. I recommend this book for everyone!
