Summary: Pure Pleasure!
Review: I have to admit, I felt uncomfortable with some of the chapters in this book. Why? Because Mama Gena discusses intimate details about sexuality. She covers topics I normally don't read about.
Thus it was sort of a shock to read her thoughts and how comfortable she is being a blatantly sexual person.

But I decided to open my mind to what Mama Gena shares in her book and I must say she has changed my outlook on life!

The goal of the book is to teach women to celebrate their gloriousness. She believes that many of us have let pleasure slip away. But we can become magnets with the power to attract good things by becoming attuned to our sensuality.

Mama Gena (Regena Thomashauer) feels women are Goddesses and should be treated as such. What do you enjoy? Do it. Of course there are many self-help books that support trying to discover your dreams. But Mama lends a new twist. She teaches you how to become attuned to your mystical and creative powers, to be fully in touch with your sensuality so you can be transformed into a glowing Goddess. As a woman pleasure is your birthright!

Buy yourself gifts, brag, flirt. Too much time in our lifes is spent focusing on what is wrong with ourselves according to Mama. Within the pages of her book are exercises, and inspiration to help you fufill your potential.

I read about Mama Gena in a popular woman's magazine. Apparently taking a course with her runs in the hundreds of dollars. But women report remarkable results, promotions, new beaus, weight loss and more.
Now you can fully enhance your feminity and claim the pleasure you deserve for the small price of the book!

Summary: Too bad my mama didn't talk like this
Review: I highly recommend this book, and Mama's classes for women who need to focus on pleasure being a part of daily life. Instead of us taking care of the rest of the world, it's time for some focus on ourselves. Take the time to get a journal to do the exercises, watch the movies and do the assignments --- afterall it's all for you ! Enjoy

Summary: Required reading for every woman
Review: I picked this up browsing through a bookstore looking for something to page through with a cup of tea. I couldn't put it down, and found myself laughing out loud. Most of it is so true, yet it's filled with things that are inspiring and make you think twice about life.

Summary: This book is changing my life!
Review: I rarely say that sort of thing about a book, but it's true in this case. I bought Mama Gena's book just before a plane trip, and devoured it on the airplane. Yes, it's pink and feather-bedecked, and no, I would not allow myself to be embarrassed about its appearance... it's too valuable for that!

Mama Gena has shown me how important it is for me to focus on what I truly want and need, and how simple it can be to take the steps to go for it. I am now working through the book again, one chapter every week or two, and am really working through the exercises - because every time I do, something changes for the better in my life! I would dearly love to take a class with Mama, but for now, I'll keep that on my wish list and just focus on learning more from the book! (If any Toronto-area women are interested in a discussion group, email me - ntn at rogers.com!)

Summary: I really didn't want to like this book.....
Review: I sat there, looking at the cover, being annoyed by the title and thought, "Oh brother.... this woman ought to get a life, I mean GIVE ME A BREAK!" and then I started reading.

And nodding, and laughing and even taking some notes.

This is NOT highly intellectual. It may not be 100% new material. What it does do is package its message in a way that is workable, applicable, engaging and enjoyable to read.

I found myself mildly annoyed in certain paragraphs though it certainly was not enough for me to set aside all the goodness just because of that.

It would be like turning down some double chocolate fudge because I didn't like the serving dish. Just not the right response.

Summary: THIS BOOK ROCKS!
Review: I stayed up all night in order to finish this fun, sassy book! Finally...someone is telling women that we should enjoy our lives...much more interesting than the alternative. It was easy to see myself (and ALL my girlfriends) in the examples given. I loved the book--I especially love that I now have the perfect gift for my mom, my sisters, and of course ALL my girlfriends.

Summary: How to I love me? Let me count the ways¿
Review: I've read this book twice and have started on the exercises. I've had some pretty unexpected successes. Then I headed out to see if I could meet Mama Gena. I met Sister Goddess Beth (Mama's protégée). Though I didn't know her by sight, when I saw her, I figured she had to be a Sister Goddess given the way she carried herself - confident, peaceful, alive, engaged. Then I met Mama Gena. She is pretty much as I expected she would be. She is electrifying. She is powerful. She is sexy. She is generous. The book is pretty straightforward: Identify what you want, ask for it, find joy in each moment of the journey, don't hurt anyone, reap the benefits, say thank you. Simple enough? Yup. Easy? Not on your life! But if you can figure out how to get out of your own way (skip the parts you have trouble with, they'll be there when you're ready), I bet you'll be as pleasurably surprised as I was... and am. I got laid off from my job three weeks ago. Friends are absolutely amazed by my up-beat, positive attitude and how fabulous I look. That's because I am a Sister Goddess in training....

Summary: For the sad, lonely, and disdainful.
Review: If you liken men to primitive trainable dogs, then this might be a good book for you - but if after reading it, you still find yourself disdainful and manless, you will most likely realize that no bulls**t book or classes can give you self esteem (or a satisfying relationship). Put your time into concrete projects like volunteering. Men don't owe you anything, no matter what a class or book tells you and they especially don't like it when you keep reminding them that you are a "goddess".. YUCK!!! I was given this book as a gift, and promptly placed it where it belongs - in the trash.
