Rating: ![1 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-1-0.gif) Summary: Garbage from a male point of view. Review: Matthew Fitzgerald also writes for ASKMEN.COM. His advice is paltry at best. He is obviously the type of male who is only attracted to the type of woman he writes about - which is why his opinions are so skewed. Hey, you wade in garbage, you're gonna stink. If you found this book a revelation, chances are you are getting just what you diserve from women.
Rating: ![2 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-2-0.gif) Summary: Income Parity and Exploitation is a Two-Way Street Review: Even though many men feel they are constantly being deceived by women into believing that they must offer a great deal of wealth, education, and prestige in order to win a woman, the fact is that many women make these demands on men because they do not feel that they are as competent as men. They often don't have as much self-confidence in their ability to effectively lead others and often do not believe they can accomplish as much as men. Because women have more faith in a man's ability to succeed than their own ability to succeed, they rely on the financially successful, educated man to lift them up and grant them access to a priviledged status that they think they cannot achieve. This is why I believe so many women act like "gold-diggers". When women have as much self-confidence in their financial, professional and social worth in society as men, they will stop relying on men to attain the priviledge they so desperately seek because they will realize that it belongs to them already. I consider myself one of a progressively new breed of women who are confident in their own ability to earn a good income and succeed in this world. Arguably, the downside for men is that women like me no longer feel that marriage is a necessity, but more of a luxury. It would be a luxury to meet a really great man with whom I can have a loving relationship and grow old together. But it's not necessary when I can afford a nanny, housekeeper, etc. for the kids and the home. This would probably happen anyway even if I had a husband. As women begin to earn incomes at greater parity with men, I think we will see more women who choose to have love relationships with men regardless of a man's wealth or prestige. When this occurs, the physical attractiveness of a man will become very important.
Another interesting point is that in spite of the fact that women are seen as gold-diggers in Fitzgerald's book, he neglects to mention that there are many men who are just as focused finding on a trophy spouse. I cannot list the number of times I have met men who aim to pursue comparably wealthy, educated and attractive women to enhance their own social status. Carolyn Bessette Kennedy look alikes comes to mind.
