Review: When I first saw the title of _Sex-Ploitation: How Women Use Their Bodies to Exthort Money From Men_, the first thought that popped into my mind was "what possible agenda can this book have?" The thesis, argued with a vulgar, ignorant, adolescent and openly misogynist tone, is that women market their bodies toward the general male sexual drive for cold-blooded material gain. While this is certainly true of some women, it is definitely NOT true of all women (in fact, most women). The assessment in question focuses on women (I'm guessing the upscale Yuppie type) who hang out in bars, and the types of females that the author has personally associated himself with, as reading between the lines in this book reveals that not all social classes and their mating behavior is represented in this book. _Sex-Ploitation" is in the same tradition as the author of the Book of Sirach who considered the greatest evil to be that of women, or feminists themselves who write about the supposed evils of the oppressive male "patriarchy." Some of the author's takes of the ways males and females view mating is accurate, but his notion of females doing what they do consciously is ridiculous, especially since he recognizes males' libido as unconscious. The book also polemicizes in a lust-filled, totally spiritless void. _Sex-Ploitation_ is another book in the vein of free-love literature, albeit written from a more radical perspective, less politically-correct. A reader may find this book funny (if not read too seriously) since it contains all kinds of ancecdotes, statements and "overheard conversations" about stereotypical behavior as evidence.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: I wish I could give it 20 stars Review: Wow! Well-researched, well-written. Matthew Fitzgerald finally tells the truth about women, and offers the solution to the problem. This book is a must read for anyone, male or female! I've read couple of the negative reviews (and there are very few, mainly from women)--obviously these people are very, very threatened by the truth. Every day I see in action what Matthew talks about: women using sex to steal men's money and then lying to themselves about it.
Rating: ![1 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-1-0.gif) Summary: The same old lacuna Review: Unfortunately Mr. Fitzgerald chooses to focus attention primarily and disparagingly on the symtoms of a debilitating societal disease rather than its causes or cures. I am, of course, speaking here of ongoing economic inequalities between the sexes. For a more gender neutral (fair & solidly researched) perspective on the origins of this dilemma see Don Browning's "Biology, Ethics, and Narrative in Christian Family Theory" in Promises to Keep, Eds. Popenoe, Elshtain, Blankenhorn, Rowman & Littlefield Publishers, Inc. 1996 (not quite as "spiritually" oriented as its title indicates). That men desire to secure for themselves sex with women, and that women seek economic security for themselves and their offspring is not a newsflash first revealed to us by Mr. Fitzgerald. It is ancient and rooted in biology. (If Mr. Fitzgerald is so concerned about the seductive behavior of women, might I suggest that he consider providing them the security but refusing the sex?) And for a positive and promising direction in the search for possible cures for this societal disease see (Professor) Ann Cudd's, "Oppression by Choice" in The Journal of Social Philosophy, 1994. These two selections provide much better insight into the underlying tensions between men and women, and they provide it with less blame and more helpful suggestions for improving relationships between the sexes.

Why do men, time and time again, choose the gold-digging woman over "career" women? Hello, if you choose the type of woman who invests in her looks like other women invest in their careers, do not be surprised when she turns out to be a gold digger! That little traditional type may end up controlling more than you expect.
Rating: ![1 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-1-0.gif) Summary: Demented Review: This book is disgusting. It has neither sociological relevance, nor anthropological relativism. Its message should be disregarded, as it is highly prejudiced, sexist, and is written only for shock value.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Of course it's true! Review: Of course it's true women use their bodies to get money from men. What else are men good for besides their wallets? Love? I have a dog. Companionship? I have friends. The best part is, you get the most out of a guy when he THINKS he's going to get sex, so you can string him along until he wises up and then ditch him for the next sucker. You'd think most guys would have bought a clue by now, but even this book won't help. They'll still fork out cash just to have a girl look at them. Of course I won't be able to play this game once I get too old, but then that's what alimony is for.

Review: Well, here's a great book for anyone who already has a low opinion of women! Everything you need is here to enforce your misogynistic beliefs! I wonder if this guy interviewed his mom or grandma, or his sisters (if he has any) before writing this gibberish. (Did his Mama screw dad out of money? Or was grandma the gal who set him on this path?) Listen, just go get yourself a skin-mag and rank on women THAT way, fellas. It's cheaper, and there are pretty pictures included. The writing is better, too.
Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: A critical assesment of women Review: Matthew Fitzgerald's view is that almost all women are only interested in money and how much of it they can get from men. While I have also seen many women act the way he describes the criticism does not apply to all women. His reference seems to be more oriented to singles bars where money matters more than sincerity. He is close to accurate in his descriptions of women who use sex or the promise of "maybe sex" to extort drinks, dinner, vacations, apartments, and most anything else from men. Every man who's been dating has met many such women. It would be better writing if it were toned down a little and acknowledged that all women are not the same. More women would then read the chapter of advice for women. The advice for men is pretty good guide to young men dating women today.
