Summary: Trueselves: Understanding Transexxualism
Review: This is an outstanding book for those who are trying to understand transsexualism and the torment often felt by those who are transsexual. The book not only is helpful to those people that are close to a transsexual person, it is also a great aid for transsexuals to understand the gender idenity issues that they face every day. I strongly reccomend this book to be read by anyone interested in transsexualism. It helps people come to an understanding of an issue many live with and do not truely address for a large part of their lives. As a society we need to understand the reality of transsexualism better and help those we love live as their trueselves.

Summary: Informative
Review: As a female partner of a mtf this book was the first reinforcement that our relationship could work. This was the first book that even mentioned other couples that have withstood the transition and kept their relationship intact. Not all transsexuals are hot to trot to find someone to have sex with some are just normal people in that they want loving, caring relationships no matter what their partners sex is.

Summary: True Selves
Review: This is undoubtedly the best book written about growing up and going through life transgendered. I send my deepest thanks to Mildred and Chloe for the time and effort it took to write this book, and for their honesty and compassion. This is a must read for anyone who has a friend, family member, or coworker who is transgendered. THANK YOU!

Summary: Understanding Yourself
Review: Excellent book for the transsexual, his or her family, and friends. It helped me understand what I had gone through, to accept myself, and finally, to go on to complete my transition and undergo surgery to correct my invisible 'birth defect.' Have given many copies to friends, family, and those I deal with in the medical profession.

Summary: Quite possibly the BEST book available!
Review: I have read a lot of literature about transsexualism, and this one topped them all. Sure, there are other great sources out there, but TRUE SELVES explains it best in layman's terms - Brown and Rounsley did such a lovely job with it that they've outdone themselves - BRAVO! Being a transsexual is not easy and it's nice to know that I'm not the only one, that there are people we can turn to, and that there are resources to help us out of our despair. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Summary: A Must Read Book
Review: This book should be read by every person who wants to learn more about the phenomenon of transsexualism. The authors could have emphasized that there are many so called transsexuals who believe that having SRS will make them a "real" woman. It ain't so! Perhaps readers need to also read the book "Who's Really From Venus? The Tale of Two Genders" by Dr. Peggy Rudd. A balanced person has a mixture of masculinity and femininity. Too many transsexuals and transgendered individuals try to have their masculinity removed through surgery or therapy. Every woman and man needs to have a balance of masculinity and femininity.

Summary: Transexuals are Humans also
Review: This is one of the finest book, dealing with transexualism I have read. It really looks at the human side of the issue, and makes one realize how hard it is to be a transexual. It talks about all the issues and hard decisions all transexuals must make. I would recommend this book to anyone who has an interest in this subject. Very well written

Summary: This is mandatory reading for all trans men and women!
Review: If you are a transsexual, buy this book. It'll be the best money you've ever spent. Caring, sensitive and detailed, this highly accessible resource guide is invaluable to the transsexual as well as thier family and friends. Every TS I've spoken with about the book sees the broad brush strokes of their lives eloquently described in the pages of this marvelous text. It is a particular wonder in that it balances a non-judgemental voice with realistic advice about the likely pitfalls one can encounter during and after transition. Buy the book!

Summary: The best book that i've ever purchased.
Review: This book is wonderful. I have yet to read anything that sums up my life so well. This book has been an incredible help for my family and friends. It covers many of the things that people want to know and understand that we cannot always put into words during conversation. I have two copies and I am considering buying a third.
