Rating: Summary: Great Program Review: Although I did not shed actual pounds in the first week of the program, I did lose inches. The exercises in the 8MM program are easy to learn and do while being challenging. The program is easy to follow and I find myself getting up eagerly in the morning to do the exercises...as well as craving more exercise when I get home from work in the evenings. This program works!
Rating: Summary: Seems Really Good Review: I started this program a week ago and I have lost one pound which is good for me. The exercise, only being a few minutes every morning is quite bearable. Knowing that I am doing something good for my body and reaching my goals is inspiring. But knowing that I can do it for just those few minutes makes me work at them a little harder. There are nice daily inspirations and that keeps me on the right track. Also, that little 8 minutes every morning really DOES energize you all day!!I highly recommend this book to get you started even if you are not totally motivated at first. Thats how I was and then I thought, "Come on, 8 minutes a day?, I can do that and I AM!!" Now I AM MOTIVATED!
Rating: Summary: It Will Work If Ya Do It Review: Yes, it works - If you follow it. This can be of great value for those who don't honestly "like" exercising, or don't have the time because of a hectic schedule. It's true that in 8 minutes a day, you can change your body. The key is using the eight minutes in the most optimal way possible. This is where Cruise helps us. He gives us the roadmap that is most optimal for the time alloted (eight minutes per day or more of course). The eight minutes a day is the physical fitness (workout) part of this program. Daily aerobic and strength training. There is a daily focus on two separate muscle groups. The workout part is the drive to do what many are aware of: adding more muscle stimulates metabolism. When it comes to diet certain fats are good and others bad and obstructive to one's physical goals. Beyong the 8 minutes: eating. What you eat, how many calories you take in, and the type of fats you absorb via fork and spoon. Portions here are critical. Because of this, if you are the type of person who's tried other "diets" or "workout programs" before this, you'll likely diss it after a while and then move onto the next one. Be realistic about this. Calorie intake is restrictive and one's eating habits are actually more important than the 8 minutes a day workout, if you want to get the results this program offers. The supportive "pep talks" and the easy tracking make it convenient for those who are one, motivated to do it, and two, don't have a lot of time. It will work, if you follow it.
Rating: Summary: This Plan Makes Sense Review: What makes this fitness plan attractive is its grounding in sound principles of exercise and nutrition, with an added dose of motivation. The plan is an easy read, with step-by-step instructions in how to improve your health with a short investment of time each day. If you have tried every diet and exercise program under the sun, you will appreciate that 8 Minutes in the Morning does not require special food, pills, or products. For those who have been away from exercise or activity, this plan is a great way to ease back into fitness. If exercise and activity have been part of your life, this plan is a great way to take it up a notch. With working full time and being a wife and mother of 3 young children, this plan works for me; I am able to be consistent about my morning exercise and plan meals and snacks the whole family can eat. It's not complicated. I carry my book with me back and forth from home to work. Try it with a friend for a month and see what you accomplish!
Rating: Summary: This book is a waste of your time Review: Everything in this book is tired, trite, and obvious. No busy person has time during his or her day to journalize "eating." My personal trainer reviewed the excercises and said that most are flawed for any number of physical and genetic reasons. The trite pictures of "then" and "now" are an insult to any reasonable person's intelligence.

Rating: Summary: 8 minutes in the morning-half the truth Review: i purchased "8 minutes int he morning" by jorge cruise because i had heard such astounding remarks about it-such as "so easy" and "just 8 minutes to a better you". the fact is, if you read the book (don't get me wrong, it makes for good reading and some things about the book make it worth while to read)thinking you won't have to watch what you eat and that it will be easy to follow, think again! actually, according to the book you have to keep track of what you eat (and the calorie limit is very low-for example if you weigh about 150 lbs, you have to eat under 1400 calories a day! they constantly repeat in the book that you don't count calories, but you do have to keep track on cards! not as easy as it appears!
Rating: Summary: this is great book Review: Anthony Robbins is Good. I want to visit him in his castle on some day. Cruise is good too. I loved the part about the morning, and also I thought Cruise was good in Top Gun. It's the best movie in the yorld.
Rating: Summary: NO WAY! 8 Minutes an hour....maybe! Review: I bought the book thinking "horray! finally weight loss as simple as only having to exercise 8 minutes a day, first thing in the morning!" Sounds easy, sold me. Left me obese! I wish more than anything in this world that losing weight could be as simple as only doing 8 minutes of exercise a day. Great marketing, catching title....little delivery on the promise. This books success formula lies much more in the restrictive calorie diet than in the hyped 8 minutes a day title. What really bugs me about this book is the authors claim that he was once overweight. Give me a break! One picture of a maybe chubby kid, and that picture really doesn't show much of his body, does NOT convince me that he was overweight or knows this struggle first hand as he claims to. He even says "if I continued to eat at this rate, I would have been over 200 pounds". Jorge...I am not happy with your book. I feel that you oversold and underdelivered.
Rating: Summary: Don't bother Review: This book was a major disappointment. It looks, reads, and feels like a vanity press production. Lots of those before and after pictures of family members that can be posed with the belly slump and two minutes later with erect posture and tight abdominals. Pages of semi blank forms for journal keeping. Each day has half pages devoted to pop psychology and fluff regarding weight issues and dieting. The nutrition advice and food lists are definately not for anyone doing low carb. The exercises with light dumbells are being featured in half of the womens magazines on the rack by the checkout. If you really want a guide to working out physically don't bother with this one.
