Summary: Success at last.
Review: I have been struggling with the last 10 pounds of pregnancy weight for over a year and doing 4 days of at least 30 minutes of aerobic activity without success. In the first week of 8 minutes in the morning I lost 3 pounds! I stepped off the scale and got back on several times to make sure it was real. I am now into my 2nd week and hope I have the same results this week.

Summary: 8 Minutes in the Morning
Review: If you've never considered yourself a morning person and have limited time to focus on a weight loss/exercise plan, this book is for you. I'm 41 years old, work full-time, have a daughter in school and a husband that travels and simply couldn't figure out how to find the time to lose weight and exercise. Two weeks into this program, however, I had lost 6 pounds, could notice a difference in my clothing, and feel better than I have in years. Initially, the hardest parts for me were eating more for breakfast than I ever had, eating more vegetables than I ever had, planning meals, and exercising in the morning. After a few days, however, it begins to be habit-forming and becomes easier.

With years of trying to sneak in an aerobics tape before dinner, I would become sidetracked with responsibilities and activities or would see no visible results and would then quit exercising. I was frustrated that even if I lost a few pounds, I never saw a difference in my body shape. I've always heard that morning exercisers are the ones who will stick with it, but the thought of bouncing around in the morning simply didn't work for me. Jorge recommends daily strength training, and 2 morning exercises with 4 sets of 12 reps can be done by anyone and quickly become addictive. I noticed a change in my body shape after 2 weeks. Additionally, the meal plan in week one is satisfying and doesn't leave you feeling cranky or deprived.

The only down side of the book is that there aren't any meal plans after the first week and you question what to do on the first day of week 2.

The most important aspects of this book if you follow Jorge's advice and wisdom are 1) learning about the benefits of flax oil 2) developing a daily exercise program that is manageable no matter how busy you are 3) portion control and 4) it works!

Summary: 8 Minutes in the Morning WORKS!
Review: Jorge Cruise's book works! This book gives step by step advice on how to get the weight off. Jorge also tells your just how long it will take. Everyone has 8 minutes in the morning! I just finished my first week and have not only lost 6 pounds, but I feel terrific and know that by August 31, I will have lost the weight I needed to. I'm telling all of my friends about this book!

Summary: Fluf
Review: This is the only book I remember buying that made me feel I'd wasted money. After 30 minutes it went into the pile of books in the basement for which I hope to get $0.50 each. Maybe there are some innocents out there that need the pep-talk and inspirational quotes that fill this book, but it's not what I was looking for. His ideas on nutrition were sorely lacking (if you want to read THE book on eating for health, read Eat to Live, by Fuhrman). Despite the implication in the title, the book offered very little in exercise information.

Summary: This program works!
Review: 8MM is easy, flexible, and delivers results fast. The 2 exercises each morning are quick, simple, safe, and effective. Jorge's eating plan will let you eat out, have 2 "treats" each day, and still lose weight! Yes, you'll need to check off what you eat, but that takes a maximum of 5 seconds and will help you become aware of what you're really eating. In less than 3 weeks, I've lost pounds, inches, 1 1/2 dress sizes - and gained tons of energy and lots of compliments. What's not to love?

Summary: More than worth the money!
Review: This book is comprised of two main sections - the daily 8 minute exercise recommendations and the "eat fat to get fit" diet programme.

I am not one of those who can follow diet programs - so I did not follow the eating cards section, but the morning exercise recommnedations are themselves many times worth the money.

Summary: 8 minutes in the morning is working for me
Review: At first I thought this book was gimmicky but something about it persuaded me to make the purchase. Once you get going with it, you won't want to stop and you WILL lose weight. Most of the ideas are commonsense and have been around a while but Jorge Cruise presents them in a fun and easy to use manner, along with goal setting and plans on how to accomplish them. Most of the things I've tried before didn't last, or once I tried to return to a good, balanced regular diet the pounds would slowly creep back on. I've enjoyed this book, the diet and the exercise plan immensely. It has made a great difference for my wife and I.

Summary: Great plan for commuters
Review: I commute a total of 3 hours a day so I look forward to applying 8 minutes to my life. It is the only plan that I found that can work with my schedule. It is quick and easy reading. Jorge has put a great plan together. It addresses emotional, physical, and nutritional issues.

You don't count calories, but you do keep track of what you eat per day. Although this requires you to prepare and plan your food in advance, you can still stay on track even if you didn't have time to plan your food the night before. I believe planning and preparing your own meals is your true secret to becoming and staying lean.

I don't get hungry despite the low caloric intake. The healthy fat like flax oil keeps me satisfied.

I look forward to doing my exercises every morning and writing in my journal every night. Bonus, this plan is helping me with my depression.

Summary: Works for me
Review: I have tryed many different programs and have found them helpful, but this is the only one that tied all the nessesary nutrition requirements and exercize to my desires. I didnt just want to lose weight just to put it back on plus more, I wanted to change my habits and life style to maintain what I want for myself. I beleive I have found that program.

Summary: If you need a plan, this is a good start
Review: I have neglected the nutritional aspect of my life for the past twenty years. At age 41 and weighing 275 lbs., I decided that this year was definately going to be "my year" and I was going to get this aspect under control. I'm also the type of individual who needs a plan. This book outlines a four week plan that can get you started on the road to better health. The key word is started. Each week is mapped out for you - one day at a time. There is sound nutritional advice which mirrors much of what is already known about better health.

I just completed my first week and lost 7 pounds. Just goes to show you how much I was really eating each day. The hardest part of the first week is the extremely limited daily calorie count (1200). The easy part was that week one's daily menu is already prepared for you. I did, however, feel better as the week rolled on. The daily motivational "pep talk" was helpful. I read it first thing in the morning as I drank my first glass of water. The two exercises designed to get your metabolism revved up were easy to do. There is a daily assignment which helps reaffirm your committment to this program. I am writing this review because of the required exercise after week one. From my personal experience, if week one is any indication and if I can continue to stay motivated, I look forward to the results at the end of week 4. I'm going to take this one day at a time.

Bottom line, if you are ready to make a significant change in your life, this book provides a plan to get you going. It isn't as easy as title suggests but then again, nothing of true value comes easy.
