Summary: I've seen 'em all and this is the best
Review: This book is great for a complete lifestyle change. Jorge is very motivating and he has the education and personal experience to back up his 8MM plan. After week one I've lost 3lbs but the best thing is how I feel. The book is an easy read too.

Summary: appreciated, user-friendly guidance
Review: This is the beginning of the second week on the program and I feel in control of my food instead of my food being in control of me. Cruise has given me an easy way to keep a record of my eating choices and has given me a way to get back on the exercise track. I am looking forward to amazing results!

Summary: too vague
Review: While the premise of this book is a good one, Jorge Cruise assumes everyone can just plow into 4 sets of 12 repetitions each without spending any time on how to work up to this level of exercise. In particular, there is no explanation spent on how to guage the amount of weight to start lifting.
This book is not for someone who has been inactive for awhile.
I found that the Strong Women series by Dr. Miriam Nelson was much more helpful.

Summary: 8 Minute Miracle
Review: I am delighted to recommend this book to anyone who has been looking for a way to find a safe, healthy eating plan, exercise that is do-able on a tight schedule, and a very helpful section not usually found in such books on how to eliminate emotional eating and other habits with food. I have looked high and low for such a comprehensive approach, and am now on Day 17 of the program with delightful results. I already feel stronger and healthier, and have experienced gradual weight loss without loss of muscle.

The eating plan allows for a variety of healthful nutrients and easily accommodates eating out and snacks. The exercises allow for flexibility in planning - if you can't get to a gym for the small weights listed on some of the exercises, there are plenty of other exercises to safely and easily do at home. Every day brings with it a few tips and reminders, a new view of an important issue related to food and body image, and a space for daily journaling. I feel certain that this book has fundamentally changed my life in a way that diet and exercise books never have before. Very well-written, enjoyable, and easy to look forward to, for each of 28 initial days of the program and beyond.

Summary: This program really does work!
Review: I am in my 22nd week of Jorge's weight training and excercise plan and am many pounds lighter and leaner than I have ever been at my current weight. Using the excercise plan and a modified eating plan, I tend to go higher protien and lower carb, I have taken 40 pounds off my frame and have less than 20 to go to meet my weight loss goal.

There isn't any magic to it, that is true, it is a combination of lowered intake and increased energy output, but I am seeing real results for the first time of years of failed dieting and excercise. I have two other friends who are now in the program and am buying a copy for another friend as a gift.

Summary: Waste of money
Review: The diet recommendation will leave you Hungry and craving the forbidden food all the time. Nothing new in this book; it calls for exercise 8 minutes every 6 mornings per week (which is usually not enough to help you lose weight), and cutting out all saturated fat from your diet, eat only fat that contains omega 3 (preferrably from Flax Seed Oil that the author happens to sell), cut out all sugary stuffs, eat your veggie, and add a little bit of complex carb and protein. That's a short summary of the whole book. Safe your money and look elsewhere for more practical guidance to lose weight! ...

Summary: Weight Loss based upon Sound Principles
Review: Unlike the ever HOT craze of the season (e.g. Atkins, Zone, Type, etc.), this program is based upon sound principles put together in a method that is do-able.
The Nutritional Piece is really a American Dietetic Diet/Therapeutic Lifestyle Change. Based upon the old exchange system, this might be difficult for many - as you struggle to figure out exchanges.
The Physical Activity Part if great. The most common impediment to increasing our daily activity is "I dont have enough time." Ten minutes might even be tough, but 8 minutes - that even I can promise. And the circuit of two exercises daily really only takes 8 minutes. (Granted, and Jorge advises this too, we really need some warm-up and cool-down stuff and preferrably some cardio exercise too.) The program rotates muscles groups so that the entire body works out in the course of a week. No area gets overtaxed - it gets a whole week to recuperate! This does work great.
(I, too, used the Weight Watchers Point system to keep track of dietary intake.)

Summary: 8 minutes in the Morning by Jorge Cruise
Review: I lost 50 pounds on weight watchers 2 years ago, that is great. However, I wanted to get toner and lose 10 more. I have been at a plateau for 8 months. After one week of 8 Minutes in the Morning, I have lost 4 pounds and I feel and look firmer. It's a great and easy program. I am living proof.

Summary: Easy and inspiring
Review: I have found this book to be inspiring and it is the first thing I turn to every morning. I appreciate the journaling ideas and thoughts for each day and I especially appreciate the easy daily workouts. The workouts are easy to do and it is helpful to have the pictures and simple directions. I don't have to worry about what to do each morning - it is clearly laid out for you.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: A bit too much hype!
Review: 8 minutes in the morning is pushing it a bit. It's basically just a blurb to sell the book. Doing a warm-up and 12 slow repetitions for each exercise takes a little more than 8 minutes. The book is inspirational and you will lose weight and get in shape if you stick with it and follow his guidelines for dieting. That alone is worth 4 stars. I was disappointed with his website because the book said I could order some equipment from him, which I was unable to do.
