Rating: Summary: 8 Minutes in the Morning by Jorge Cruise Review: This is a great book! Jorge is very clear and honest in helping people learn to love their bodies and make healthy changes. It has a very easy to follow daily plan of what exercises to do and what to eat. The exercises really do only take "8 minutes"...that's what I love! Each chapter focuses on overcoming obstacles that get in your way to achieving the ideal "you". He realizes that people have set backs for things like chocolate, and he realizes that we are all human and make poor choices sometimes. But then we get back right on track. The book is laid out in an easy to follow format and all the information you need to be successful is right in this book! The food plan is easy to follow and allows you to make switches in each food group. I have never found a book that has been so clearly laid out and simple to follow and understand. It will keep any reader very motivated and on track. It keeps me focused! It's great!. This may sound crazy, but I take it with me wherever I go! For anyone who wants to lose weight and feel better about themselves should really buy it. I give this book a 5-star rating!
Rating: Summary: 65 years old, and love it! Review: I am a 65 year old grandma who has been yo-yo dieting for years!! I am on week 2 of Jorge's GREAT program and have lost 6.5 pounds, have tons of energy, and am actually liking my 8 minute exercises! This plan is so easy and not confusing at all. I have done everything from Weight Watchers to Jenny Craig. Jorge has made a simple, easy to follow, easy to understand and easy to incorporate into your life program! I HIGHLY recommend it! In fact, I have gotten all 3 of my kids to get on the program too! Thanks Jorge!! Finally at 65 I will get the body I want and feel great!
Rating: Summary: A Great Exercise Plan Review: "8 Minutes in the Morning" is a weight-loss and weight-maintenance plan with a couple of interesting features. The first is the diet plan. Cruise calls it the "Eat Fat to Get Fit" program. Everything is outlined for you, including little reproducible food journal cards so you can keep track of what you are eating each day. Since I am not overweight, and can't even envision eating the amount of fat each day that he recommends, I am not using this portion of the book, but I can appreciate that it is well laid out and seems very user-friendly. The second part of the book is the exercise routine. This is actually why I bought the book in the first place. Exercise is in two parts: strength training with light hand weights (dumbbells) and power walking. The strength training segment works two major muscle groups each morning, taking only about eight minutes, six days a week. There is a four week plan given, so you have lots of variety and no chance of boredom. The photos and text instruction are excellent. I like the fact that he rotates through the muscle groups, which gets everything worked out while not stressing to the point of injury, and the daily routine, which, while very short, gives me something to do each day. I am a creature of habit and I find I do better if I have a little to do every day, rather than a couple of big workouts each week. I also like the fact that this workout does not require any expensive or bulky equipment. Just light weights, a chair, maybe something like a mat to put down on the floor. He also gives instruction in "power walking" which is good for the aerobic component. The instructions are very clear in terms of frequency, duration, intensity, and proper form. As I said, I am not doing the diet part of this program, since I have been with the McDougall Program for quite a while, but the book was worth the money for me just for the strength training routine it contains. I recommend this book if you want to form a solid exercise habit.

Rating: Summary: This book is Great! Buy it! It Works Review: I was a very fit and active teen, but after I hit 30 the weight just started piling on until I found out by my doctor that I was 30 pounds over weight and needed to lose weight. I tried crash diets, but those didn't work. A friend of mine from work suggested that I read this book. She lost 15 pounds and was so excited by it that I decided to give it a try. It just made sense. This book is very easy to read and explains how the body works and what you need to do to lose weight. I went out and bought the oils right away and started with my 8 minute workout the very next morning. That was two months ago and I have already lost about 20 pounds. I can't believe it. Jorge's book really encouraged me to keep going. Once I saw the weight starting to drop off that gave me momentum to continue. I eat so much better now and like feeling strong and healthy. I would strongly recommend you buy this book if you want to lose weight and feel good about yourself.
Rating: Summary: Lose Weight Gain Energy! Review: This book is Awesome! The minute I received it I started reading it and couldn't put it down. Jorge does a great job explaining the types of foods to eat in order to lose weight and the types of excercise we need to be doing. The key is to build lean muscle and get rid of the fat! I love the fact that the book is a workbook and Jorge is with you every step of the way. My first week I lost 2 pounds and already feel GREAT! If you want to see results buy this book, follow the program and you're on your way!
Rating: Summary: 8 Minutes in the Morning Review: I used 8 Minutes in the Morning to get off the 10 pounds that have always bothered me. I have struggled with my weight since I was 15 years old. I never really had more weight to lose than 10 to 15 pounds, but I really never felt great about my body. I knew that I could look better and feel better, but I wasn't sure how to get off those annoying 10 pounds. I did try the gym thing, but I wasn't getting results. I tried diet pills, but knew that the weight would come back after I stopped taking them, so I tried 8 Minutes in the Morning. In one month, I lost 12 pounds and I have kept it off for a year now!! I have more confidence and a lot more energy. I just got married and I felt great on my wedding day and on my honeymoon in a swimming suit! I know how to eat, what to eat and how much to eat. I feel more motivated in my relationships and at work. 8 Minutes has really changed my life for the better, and it wasn't a struggle, the program was so easy to follow, I never felt starved or had to spend hours in the gym! Rating: Summary: It Just Works! Review: WOW! What a simple plan. I got started late in late 2000 and in about 90 days I lost that gut I had been carrying around for several years. I lost a total of 20 pounds to be exact. Jorge's plan truly works and is a phenomenal way to lose weight and feel great. In just 8 minutes in the morning of exercise and eating right it worked for me.......QUICKLY! If I can follow this plan ANYONE can! It is so simple. I strongly recommend you try it and make it work for you too.
Rating: Summary: Lose Weight the EASY way! Review: I've tried a million diets before and let me tell you. THIS ONE REALLY WORKS! Jorge's book is so easy to understand. He states it for you in plain English. The book describes everything that we should be eating to feel healthy and lose weight. I love the pictures of the exercises. This may sound crazy but I look forward to the eight minute workout each morning and I walk for three miles in the afternoon. Jorge does an EXCELLENT job explaining good fats vs. bad fats and what it takes to lose weight and keep it off. He's extremely motivational and gives you everything you need to be successful on this program. The book is easy to read and the pictures of the exercises are easy to follow and only take eight minutes in the morning and you're done. If you're serous about losing weight and getting healthy I would highly recommend this program/book to everyone!!!
