Rating: Summary: 8 minutes a day to lose fat? i don't think so Review: I think everybody that says that you can lose weight by doing 8 mins strength exercise a day is a liar. Strength training is mainly anaerobic so you don't burn any fat. In addition, even if it was aerobic you wouldn't burn any fat, since you start burning signicant amount of fats after the first 20mins. So, if you follow the diet you will probably lose weight since it's restricted in calories, but don't be fooled in that you can lose weight simply by exercising 8 mins a day, no matter what type of exercise. To put it simple, a pound of fat is 3500 calories. In order to lose 1 pound of fat simply by exercise you would have to walk or run 35 miles a week. In addition if you do proper exercise, warm-up, stretching, exercise, dtretchign cooldown, you would need much more than 8 mins. The only good thing I can say is that 8mins is better than nothing even though byitself won't have any beneficial benefits.
Rating: Summary: Get ready to loose weight and inches!! Review: I've read many diet books and this has been the best in that the success I've seen in two weeks is fabulous - 5 pounds!! But more importantly 2 inches from my waist - WOW. Jorge Cruise's 8 min in the morning is the way to go and it's fun. Every morning you do different excercises and work different areas of your body so you don't feel like your stuck in a boring rut. A winner of a book and I'm looking forward to achieving my goal of 20 lbs in 2002 and keeping it off! Here's to good health :o)
Rating: Summary: Aerobics Instructor Losing Those Last 10 lbs.! Review: Yes, I teach aerobics and have been losing the same five pounds over and over again since the birth of my daughter nearly 3 years ago. I was at 22% body fat and had a great metabolism then and it all changed once I became pregnant! My hunger was enormous and I lost some of my good eating habits. When the baby came, (you new parents can all relate), I was overwhelmed! Deciding to stay home and take care of my family was quite a job and my life had drastically changed. I started back teaching aerobics 4 months after the baby... weight came off but these last 10 pounds have been tough! Well, after week 1 with Jorge I have lost 3 pounds and feel better than I have in a long time. And guess what... that was with only one aerobics class! I purposely did not teach much the past week to see what would happen. Now I know I don't have to exercise like a madman to lose this weight. I will continue teaching (2-3 times a week) plus do Jorge's 8 minutes until I reach my goal! I may surpass my goal since the flax curbs my appetite and I'm finally making smart eating choices again like I did when I was younger. I tell my students in my classes strength training is important... don't leave it out! Aerobics can build endurance and gets you moving but that's not going to work for everybody. Most of us need strength training to boost our metabolism. This book gives you all you need to strength train. Everything he says is true and in line with all my knowledge as a certified instructor. I'm no Kathy Smith, I am your average mom who wants to be healthy and energetic. He says in the book that a woman gains an average of 9 lbs. between 30-39. Well, I turn 30 this year and cannot gain anymore weight before I lose some! I can eat real food, make time for myself first thing in the morning everyday and not be afraid to weigh myself on the scale. If this sounds like what you want and need in your life I reccomend giving Jorge one week of your life. Twenty one days left...I'll let you know if I met my goal!

Losing weight, exercising and staying healthy can be very difficult in today's fast paced world but Jorge Cruise's book is written with a program that is specifically geared for the "busy" lifestyles that most of us endure. My first week on the program I lost 9 lbs. and I attribute this to following all the great information that is provided in his book. If you want an easy-to-follow and successful program for getting healthy, this is the one for you.

Its been just short of a month and I've already lost 8 LBS !! and really trimmed down my waist line. The exercise program targets all of the different muscle areas and the nutritional diet covers all of the food groups necessary for a very healthy and balanced life style. I recommend this program for those who are really trying to lose weight to those who exercise every day. Rating: Summary: I've Got The Power! Review: I read this book last Sunday morning, went to the store and got what I needed for the week and have lost 9 pounds as of today! I am very excited about the coming weeks. I enjoy the exercise in the morning. The flax oil really works well. I haven't been hungry and I have more energy. Review: I have been heavy all of my life, before going on Jorge's program I had already lost 79 pounds.. but lost the motivation to continue, and really didnt have a strong background in exercise so I decided to buy his book and try it. After 1 week I have exercised not only in the morning but at night as well 6 out of the 7 days!! My energy and WANTING to exercise is amazing, I have never felt this good about myself, I cant wait to see what the weeks ahead bring me. Rating: Summary: Forget the quick fixes; this is IT! Review: After years of trying quick fix diets, I found this program. I have lost almost 10 pounds in 3 weeks and anticipate steadily losing 2 pounds of fat a week. It's a great program and the message board associated with is is absolutely super! Not difficult to follow at all. There are no quick fixes to lose weight. Eat less and exercise more. This book shows you the way!
Rating: Summary: Best of all I have tried Review: Well, I have read many books on the subject and this is so far my favorite! It is simple and easy to follow, and it all makes a lot of sense! Not like those programs that tell you to eat only certain foods, avoid others...This is a sensible program that combines sound nutrition advice with an excellent strength training routine! The best thing is...it works! I am trying to lose those last, very stubborn 15 pounds and after only one week on the program I lost 4.5!!! I can see the difference and I feel stronger! I can easily see myself continuing with the strength training routine forever: it keeps me motivated because it's different every day and takes very little time to complete...and I can tell I am using every muscle in my body! Rating: Summary: Jorge's book has given me the PUSH I really needed! Review: I'm glad I came across this book while visiting Amazon.com The great thing about it is the 8 minutes in the morning workout. Being new, it takes more the 8 minutes, but as a person gets used to the routine and becomes stronger, 8 minutes is very achievable as to being the length of time this workout will take. One of the things I noticed is my instinctiveness to want to select better food choices. I'm taking it beyond the 8MM and am going to minimize my sweets and sugar intake. Starting 8MM has inspired me to do so. Admittedly I didn't lose weight in the 1st week, BUT I gained other benefits.....I feel better about my now taking action to do something. Before I wasn't conscious about the amount of water I was taking and I was eating at fast food restaurants a lot. I've cut out fast food and I make sure to get my proper fluids. I'm looking forward to my future weeks with 8MM and the buddy board is GREAT!
