Rating: Summary: do not waste your money Review: I bought this book and followed it for a month, the excercises religiously plus 30 minutes of walking a day, kept my intake to under 2000 calories a day, I am 5'11 and weigh 205 lbs. I lost about five pounds. The key in this book is not the excercise, it is keeping your calorie count down to where you will loose weight. The book is misrepresented, the title suggests excercise and mentions nothing about the diet. If you can keep your calorie count down to what major charts say anywhere in the internet, the book adds nothing extra at ll. The excercises are a simple combination of excercises you can get from any website for free. The genuine people in this industry loose big time when cons write books like this and sell them.
Rating: Summary: Gaining while you lose! Review: I stumbled upon Jorge Cruise's book at the bookstore and bought it not knowing that I was going to start transforming my life! I was partly closed to the idea that I could even lose weight and approached the book with a skeptical, even cynical attitude. However, as I started the process, I found the book to extremely educational, motivating, and practical. I've completed the first 2 weeks and have lost 2 pounds--nothing earthshattering. But, I have also been changed on a personal level as I've become more confident in my ability to make good choices and more concerned about what I put in my mouth. Some uniquely positive aspects of the book include daily exercises, spaces for journaling on specific topics, and an overall eating plan for weight loss & maintaining weight loss. Jorge links you to his online support network early in the process and this is an added benefit. The exercises are reasonable and take up limited time every morning. Jorge compiles a great deal of educational information in an accessible and interesting way. I was impressed that whatever the journaling exercise and quote for the day addressed was touching on exactly how I felt that day. The only negative aspect of the book for me was that there was no long term research that he presents on his specific program. The "proof" that he provides for his plan is based upon case-studies (convincing and motivating but not too scientific) and other researchers' explanations of things that help people lose weight. However, his program appears to be founded on valid scientific studies & I respected this. If he does a followup book, I'd hope to see some long term followup data as "proof", given the magnitude of the audience that is being impacted by his ideas. Despite these negatives, the book is definitely worth the money, if your doctor approves of you doing this type of plan.

Review: I have been overweight for most of my life so to me thinking like an overweight person was a normal part of life, I came accross this book on this site and started reading the 40 sample pages and I got really interested about it (to me it seemed too easy and there had to be a catch) so I got the book and read it and it was simple but I thought what do I have to loose (other then pounds) so I started the quickstart plan, and I have finished my first week on the plan (not only was it simple it was fun) I followed it for the week and my first week results were a total loss of 6 lbs! I feel wonderful and I am starting to think differently! Which is making me want to continue with it and stick it out till I achieve my ideal weight! I know I can do it this time! And there is a lot of support and encouragement with the online message boards. If you have tried "everything" out there and still are overweight and don't know what else to do. I encourage and challange you to give this book a shot! Besides what have you got to loose other then extra pounds! Which is a good thing anyways... Try it I know you'll love the program! It works!!
Rating: Summary: On my way to goal weight... Review: I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. I just completed week 1 of his program and have lost 4 pounds and 4 1/2 inches. I really enjoy his program, although the flax oil doesn't taste the best, but you can always use the capsules instead of the oil. You are also supposed to have 2 servings of treats/cravings per day, which makes it easier. Being too strict will eventually backfire and you'll end up pigging out and regretting it. I don't feel deprived on this program. I have a positive outlook in that I will get to my goal weight with Jorge's program. I still have a ways to go, but I know I can do it. I highly recommend this book.
Rating: Summary: get real Review: The claims and approach of this book are insulting and misleading. Haven't we all had enough of empty promises of quick fixes? The people that lose weight on this are usually those who were so sedentary that doing something small will cause them to lose a couple pounds. Unless they step up their efforts the weight loss will stop. You simply cannot get to or maintain a healthy weight with 8 minutes a day of exercise and psyching yourself up. The flax oil he pushes is supposed to work magic. Doesn't he sound like a snake oil salesman? If you want to get real about getting healthy, losing weight, or living a healthy lifestyle, then do three days of total body weight lifting and three days of cardio. Eat fruits, vegetables and whole grains. Minimize sweets and fats. That's all it takes and you'll feel great. I'd recommend other books like "Get with the Program" or "Make the Connection" that emphasize determination, persistence, and healthy living. It's time for us Americans to stop thinking we can get fit in 8 minutes a day (hah!) and get real. Put your mind and body to and you CAN do it for real!
Rating: Summary: This book really helps! Review: I gained a lot of weight when I got pregnant and now 8 1/2 months later, I am still struggling to lose it. I tried eveything that I could do to start losing, I even went as far as ording the Hollywood Diet! Nothing worked. A friend / co-worker had told me about how well Jorge Cruise's products had helped her so I said what the heck, I'll give it a try. I started a week ago and lost 1 pound but I feel great! I owe it all to his book! Thank you Jorge!
Rating: Summary: Awesome Program! Review: First I want to say that EVERYTHING you need to follow this program is in the book! No buying motivational tapes, special suppliments, shakes or "Magic powders!" I started this program over 100 lbs. overweight. I have just finished my first week and have lost 10 pounds. I can already see a significant difference in my appearance when compared to my before picture. My husband and I started together and are still going strong. If I had difficulties with any exercise, just did what I physically could. Two years ago I was considering bariatric surgery. Now I look forward to each day of my 8mm program. Following the quick start menu was very easy and I felt full and satisfied. I didn't even try to snack on any of my favorites. I would recommend this book to anyone! I'm already planning on giving it to family members as Christmas presents. Thank you Coach Cruise!!!
Rating: Summary: Off the Plateau Review: At the beginning of this year I weighed the most I have ever been. I was lucky if I could walk around the block without having to stop part of the way or walking up the stairs at work and not sounding as if I couldn't walk another step. I started walking a little more each day, watching what I was eating and taking one day at a time. I was losing about 2 lbs a week which I knew was good. But then the great plateau hit. I couldn't seem to get any further. I had read several reviews on Jorge's book and finally decided to take that final step. Now 2 weeks later I have started loosing again. Rating: Summary: This book is very helpful! Review: After reading the book, I learned alot about unhealthy and healthy fats. I really liked the eating cards system. They let you know how much you can eat for the day, without specific menu( Very convenient for eating out). I like the eating cards but found them very difficult to stick with. I have completed one week of the program, and the exercises really work. If you use the correct weight, I'm using 10 lbs. My muscles are really looking toned. I have also combined this with aerobic video. These two together are really really working! I like this program and really believe it will work for me. I ate all junk food this week and still managed to lose weight. I recommend this book to all who have little time, and can't waste time counting calories!
Rating: Summary: As easy as riding a bike! Review: I was sick of recieveing all of these complicated diet plans and all the resrictions that came along with them, I am neither a bodybuilder nor am I am marathon runner, therefore the high intesity workouts from the other fitness providers are not tailored to me. With Jorge Cruise and his 8MM, I was able to go shoping once a week and buy normal food that I enjoy, I was not hungry in between the meals because of the Flaxseed oil! What great information that anyone can follow. I am well on my way to getting back to my original weight! I have lost an inch on my waist and 4 pounds in the first seven days, I cannot wait until next week! Try it, simple easy and it works!
