Summary: Encourages the right way to eat!
Review: My husband and I are working together on the program and his health has been challenged because of poor eating ... we love our carbs and sugars!!! Over two weeks we've been successful losing a combined loss of 10 lbs. That's a great start and not losing too fast that it's unhealthy. We've been committed to not missing any exercise days and writing our food daily. That's so important! One of the biggest diffences is we love having the sunshine come into our home all day. It's truly change our disposition and given us more energy. A pretty dramatic change in just two weeks. Get the book ... you'll be glad. It's easy reading and simple to follow. I love that the plan isn't a gimmic approach to weight loss but a guide for proper nutrition ... it follows the theme of my nutrition classes. Thanks Jorge!

Summary: HOORAY FOR JORGE!
Review: Jorge Cruise fully delivers in this phenomenal book of practical and EASY weight-loss guidelines! The book is written in a very "down-to-earth" format which makes it extremely easy to read and understand. (This is an important feature, because the simpler the layout, the more likely that people will actually follow the program.) And the program is easy! All you need is some dumbbells, a towel, a mat, and a chair - along with a real desire to change your body - and Jorge has provided everything else to ensure your success!

I really like how Jorge "breaks everything down" for the reader. He has included very clear pictures of each exercise, along with the written instructions; he has also provided a wealth of information that explains what types of fat are NEEDED in the body and how to get them; and the beginning of his book contains some very personal information on his family which inspired him to investigate in the weight-loss process.

Need more incentive to purchase this book? Well, I personally received my copy a little over a week ago and immediately began to implement Jorge's program and - already - I have lost a total of 7 pounds! Needless to say, I am very excited by my progress. So, If you are serious about losing the weight and improving the shape of your body, then I STRONGLY recommend that you buy Jorge Cruise's "8MM" book...you'll be glad you did!

Summary: This book will help you.
Review: My wife and I started this program 6 weeks ago and we can really tell the difference. The exercises in the book are layed out in a way that you get a total body workout {and yes, you do have muscles you didnt know about!} over a weeks time. Each week has new and fun exercises that will challenge you. I definitely have more muscle tone and have lost some weight. The cool thing about this book is that my wife and I get up early in the morning and do the days 8 minute workout, during which we spend time together before work and have fun. We are both much more energized during our work day now after this. A great way to wake up and shake off the grogginess of sleep!

I feel that following this books simple instructions is a great way to start a healthy lifestyle. Sedentary people will love how they feel. I stand on my feet all day at work and now I have more bounce and dont feel as tired at the end of the day. It is worth it just for that!

The information on nutrition is really interesting too. I think it helps people understand what is going on inside a little better and also helps you to make better food choices during the day.

Summary: The secret is in the teaspoon of oil
Review: I have done the exercises for a month while eating the way I normally did and that resulted in only a slight weight loss. I did not want to use his eating plan at first because when you read the amounts of food that you are allowed to eat it does not make you happy. Because I did not get the results I wanted by doing just the exercises, I tried his eating plan in addition and now I experience dramatic weight loss. The real secret of the program is in the teaspoon of oil that you should take with each meal as it suppresses your hunger.

Summary: Be a Looser!
Review: Since I purchased this book and started the program I have lost 63 pounds and 29 inches! This is not time consuming and easy! I would strongly recommend this for anyone wanting to loose weight. It teaches you about exercise, portion control, making good food choices and positive mental attitude! ... I finally get it!

Summary: Right book at the right time...
Review: I bought this book at the beginning of the year and started the program in February. As of this writing (July) I've lost 40 pounds. I haven't used the food rating system that is in the book but used the ideas as a general guide. I can highly recommend the exercises. He has 28 days worth of varied exercises which I've been through six times over. They are deceptively simple yet very effective for bringing tone to your body and giving you extra energy. I also use a treadmill to speedwalk/jog for 25 minutes as a warm-up before the exercises. I also think the idea of exercising first thing in the morning makes you less likely to cheat on yourself with food.

If you get the book I would encourage you to read the motivational stuff he sandwiches between each day's exercises. While he doesn't admit it, he uses state of the art NLP (NueroLinguistic Programming) as a motivational aid.

Summary: Good idea vastly exaggerated claims
Review: Jorge's basic ideas are simple and superb. They are:
* Right types of fats
* Aerobic _and_ strength training exercise each morning
* Restricted eating with tracking in a simple way

The problem I have is that some of his claims are vastly exaggerated. For example:

* His claim of helping 3 million people through his web site: he has a basic HTML website with no functionality behind it. Heck, he does not even host his own forums but piggybacks off Yahoo and MSN. Don't you think that if he really had that many clients he would have an Amazon.com kind of quality web site? I suspect that he is claiming his number from the web server logs on his site. In which case, he has helped various search "bots" like Google and Altavista lose weight as well!

* This whole business with flax seed oil seems a little fishy. Some parts of his book read like a brochure for products he is selling. And the claims are quite hyped up -- makes you stop and think

* It is unclear what Jorge was doing before the publication of his book. Tell us what you've done in the past that supports your claims Jorge!

With the above caveats for hype (which probably got inserted either by his editor, agent, or ghostwriter) it is a decent book. Without the hype it would have been half the size and cost much less. It would also have made Jorge MORE CREDIBLE

Summary: Works for me
Review: After reading the book, and following the simple instructions, after the first week - I have lost 6 lbs. As a Type II Diabetic, the food plan can be coordinated with the diabetic food plan. Jorge is extremely encouraging in the book and his website in very helpful. I reccomend this book for anyone who seriously needs to make a healthy life change.

Summary: 8 Minutes in the Morning is GREAT
Review: I started the program a week ago and I have already lost 4.5 pounds! This book is very clear and easy to follow. Through out my first week I felt like what I was doing wasn't going to do much good but it definately works. I was spending all that time in the gym and it never worked as well as this is working. I am very happy with this program and I highly recommend it. If you have tried other programs before (or even if you haven't) and you weren't satisfied with the results, this is definately the plan for you! Give it a try, it is easy and it works!

Summary: Daily Discipline Made Easy
Review: I enjoy following these simple but effective daily exercises. The book makes it easy to keep on a weekly exercise program by following the two featured exercises each day. I'm not impressed with the diet plan or advice, but the exercise regimen makes the book a good buy. As an inspirational author myself, of NEW PSALMS FOR NEW MOMS: A KEEPSAKE JOURNAL (Judson Press), I like to spend some quiet time in the mornings on daily Scripture readings. I can add these exercises and still get to work on time!
