Rating: Summary: Insightful and Fun Review: My boyfriend and I both enjoyed reading this book together. This book has really brought us closer because now we each have a deeper understanding of what makes us tick and why we do certain things. Exploring Ayurveda through Coffey's book has even spiced up our intimacy. I find myself trying new things that will arouse his specific Dosha, and so far it has been working like a charm!
Rating: Summary: Healing Relationships through ancient wisdom of Ayurveda Review: Relationships are everywhere, whether it is with our spouse or at work. Lisa integrates fluently ancient wisdom of Ayurvedic dosha types for healing relationships. She has put together a framework for different styles of relationships and how to go about nurturing each style of relationship. I loved reading this book, as she wisely integrates ancient wisdom into modern life
Rating: Summary: FUN and Informative! Review: This book is a quick, fun read, but one you'll refer back to often. It takes a complicated science (Ayurveda from India) and makes it accessible to anyone. First you take a quiz to determine your own type, or "dosha," and also the doshas of your friends, family and co-workers. Then, like in "Linda Goodman's Sun Signs," you match up your dosha to the others (Vata Woman/Kapha Man, for example). Coffey tells you all about your dosha from sex, food, travel, emotions, communication, decorating... she covers it all! Feng Shui is so five minutes ago. You've got to find out your dosha, baby.
Rating: Summary: What an Ayurvedic Practioner Thinks Review: What a fun way to introduce people to Ayurveda. There is info on Dosha traits, Dosha compatibility, and so much more. I will recommend this book to my clients.
Rating: Summary: Doshas Rule! Review: What a great book! Ms. Coffey takes a unique approach to relationships by defining personality types by an ancient East Indian system. You'll be surprised as I was to find your "dosha" and how it interacts with others. This is a quick read that's both interesting and helpful.
Rating: Summary: Insightful Review: What's Your Dosha Baby was a great find. I found it to be very insightful and raised my awareness of myself and the way I approach areas of my life. I would highly recommend this one!
Rating: Summary: Surprise! Ayurveyda and Relationships Review: When I first picked up this book, I expected to learn something about Ayurveyda, my "dosha", and considerations regarding my health, diet and well-being. This book was very informative in this regard and presents the information in a way that westerners can understand. I was pleasantly surprised to read further that Ayurveda has something to say about relationships. By understanding the nature of each dosha, I can apply the understanding to all of my relationships. This book is an enjoyable read and I learned something new.
Rating: Summary: Amazing work - supersedes all expectations! Review: When I got this book I had just hoped to get informed about the various ways to improve life by learning new principles of mind & body. However, after reading it, I'm amazed by the wealth of information I got. Deepak Chopra has rightly said on the front page of the book that Coffey brings the timeless wisdom of Ayurveda to a contemprary audience and shows us how to discover more about ourselves and our relationships. I totally agree with his words and word like to congratulate Lisa Marie Coffey for coming up with such a profoundly amazing book!
Rating: Summary: Ayurveda for the Western World Review: Whether you're interested in relating to new people in your life, your mate, your coworkers or your children, Lisa Marie Coffey's primer on Ayurveda can help you understand and nourish relationships. Her grounding in the material is obviously the solid result of long study, and her writing is warm and accessible. As a long-time student of Ayurveda, I find her description of me so accurate it's a bit unsettling. In "What's Your Dosha, Baby" you'll find everything from techniques to calm an irritated boss to the best form of exercise for your individual body/mind type. I highly recommend this book, and will be giving it to friends on gift-giving occasions.
