Summary: The title is deceptive!
Review: The title should be more like A Gay Man's Guide to Basic Dating from a Disco Drag Queens Viewpoint. I was looking for advice on resolving conflict and keeping the lines of communication open...definitely not the book for me. There is some good advice for those that have no clue about how to start dating, but which seems so obvious. The author seems to contradict himself many times, telling you not to compromise, but then advocating looking for dates is some questionable places.

Summary: Surprisingly Profound Yet Very Simple
Review: This book is remarkable, it is simply written but so very clear and direct. I had not thought about looking for a man and dating him, because my interest in gay relations is half-hearted, since I am not focused exclusively on men......but after reading this book I know I should find a boyfriend because the sex will be so much better and I can build certainty into my lifestyle.......and he shows me how to find my man......frankly, I had not considered actively looking for a boyfriend and now it seems quite exciting, a validation of gay couples and I can find a partner who is compatible instead of just being available......this book amazes me and my initial scepticism was unjust......let's see if I have the courage to follow his suggestions in the cold light of day......

Summary: Written from experience (and the heart)
Review: Very insightful and direct. Most interesting were the discussions of networking to meet Mr. Right and improving yourself while seeking, and the patience required during this time. Also, not having unrealistic expectations. What lends most credibility is that it was written by someone with experience - both personally and from counseling gay men. Another interesting chapter was on where to meet someone. I didn't want to put it down.
