Rating: Summary: Read This To Feel Single & Fabulous.. Review: This book made me feel like I was dishing with one of my girlfriends about relationships, guys, sex, and dating. I felt like I'd known Cindy my whole life. Her humor and wit make you feel better about your situations...the things that all of us women go through and understand. The truth is, women in America are staying single longer, we're dating more, experimenting more than ever before, and we need to share with one another these experiences instead of criticizing one another for our choices. I think it's fabulous, and hats off to Ms. Chupack for her wonderful writing...which I of course loved watching SATC for five years.
Rating: Summary: next book will be 'The Between Divorce's Book' Review: This book was a poor gift for me. I don't need to learn how to do everything wrong in relationships. She recommends sleeping with others right away after a breakup and apparently doesn't understand the concept of 'fasting'. Fasting is for cleansing the body and is highly beneficial. The author used it for weight loss and how many will avoid trying the 'Master Cleanse' (which I've done and recommend) because it didn't work for her. Fasting was never meant to be for weight loss. Sleeping with others right away, well, if you can detach yourself to do that, then maybe you don't need a partner. I felt sad after reading this book. Relationships do work out if you work at them, with your partner. Doing it in a bubble, blaming others, doesn't work. Good communication, healthy eating and loving, and the joyful bliss of being dedicatd to each other are not mentioned in any formula here. The formula here is to move quickly to the next, have sex, don't 'make love', and don't ever think that this is it. If it doesn't work out, then you are the victim. 2 thumbs down.
Rating: Summary: light-hearted, funny, easy read Review: This book was absolutely hysterical with the dating advice and scenarios. It was really entertaining and an easy read. It gives a great overview of dating, relationships, and being single.
Rating: Summary: made me feel so much better Review: This is not the kind of book I've ever bought -- especially not in hardcover -- but after reading her definition of Lone Rangered I realized I shouldn't feel so bad, it's happened to lots of other people. For the price of five minutes with my shrink, I got more relief! And lots of laughs. Have already shared it with a friend -- and can't resist reading sections aloud to others.
Rating: Summary: Buy this if you DON'T watch Sex & The City Review: Why? Because if you watch S&TC, this book is basically that show but in book format. Remember, the author is the writer/executive producer (one of them) of that show. So, while reading it, you'll have flashbacks to episodes and say to yourself, "Oh yeah, Samantha/Miranda/Charlotte/Carrie said that." If you don't watch the show, you'll read the book and find that Chupack's book has its funny moments. This is a pretty quick read, and because of that, you MIGHT want to consider if you want to spend your money on this short of a book.
